William A. Revely - 1960-2009
William A. Revely, 49, of Ashland, Ky., died Tuesday evening, Oct. 6, 2009, in King’s Daughters Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 2, 1960, in Ashland, a son of Sidney Revely of Ashland and the late Joy Hicks Revely and stepson of Josaphine Revely of Ashland.
He was retired from the Department of Transportation and attended King’s Way Church in Ashland.
Additional survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Martha Ellis Revely of Ashland; a son, Justin Revely at home; daughters Marsha (Tim) Sinift of Columbus, Ohio, and Ashley Revely of Huntingburg, Ind.; two adopted daughters, Sheri Lucas of Huntingburg and Gloria Blair of Ashland; brothers Martin (Lynn) Revely of Ashland, Scott (Monica) Revely of Huntington, W.Va., Tony Revely of Ashland and Ricky (Janay) Revely of Huntington; a sister, Ruby (James) Smith of Virginia; and five granddaughters, Samantha, Charlie, Isabella and Martha Moore and Tori Sinift.
Family members would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to the students at Kentucky Christian College who entered their home. You were always a delight to be around and we truly enjoyed our time together.
There will be no funeral service. The family will receive friends today, Oct. 8, 2009, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland.

Clarence Ray Fulks - 1934-2009
Clarence Ray Fulks, 74, of Raceland, Ky., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
Mr. Fulks was born Oct. 23, 1934, in Jamestown County, Va., a son of the late Zener and Roberta Nixon Fulks. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Doreen Hamilton, and a brother, Paul Franklin Fulks.
He was a retired heavy-equipment operator for Addington Inc. in Ashland, Ky., and was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Raceland.
Surviving are his loving wife, Joyce Hannah Fulks; a daughter and her husband, Stacy and Steven Patrick of Ashland; a sister, Faye Grimm of Louisa, Va.; a brother and his wife, Larry and Judy Fulks of Flatwoods, Ky.; and two grandchildren, Dylan and Camryn Patrick.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland by the Rev. James R. Daniels and Pastor Deborah Harper. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, Ky.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Raceland Church of God of Prophecy Building Fund.
Vernon B. Greene - 1926-2009
Vernon B. Greene, 82, of Flatwoods, Ky., died Oct. 7, 2009, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
He was born Dec. 24, 1926, in Cheap, Ky., now Flatwoods, a son of the late Dewey Greene Sr. and Rebecca Banks Greene.
In addition, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Klauser; a grandson, Clint Klauser; and a brother, Dewey “Bill” Greene Jr.
He was a clerk with the U.S. Postal Service, a member of Straight Creek Nazarene Church and a Kentucky colonel.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Lucille Rice Greene of Flatwoods; a son, Rodney David (Laurie) Greene of Circleville, Ohio; and grandchildren Wyatt Spencer Greene, Sarah Lin Greene and Christopher Ryan Klauser.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods by the Rev. Harold Brown and the Rev. Gary Salyers. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.

Robert “Bob” Bellamy - 1929-2009
Robert “Bob” Bellamy, 79, a longtime resident of Davy’s Run Road in Grayson, left this Earth on Sept. 24, 2009, in Southwestern Veteran’s Center in Pittsburgh, Pa., after a long illness.
He was retired from General Refractories in Hitchins, a U.S. Navy and Merchant Marine veteran, a Mason and a Kentucky colonel. He was born on Davy’s Run on Nov. 9, 1929, the son of the late William M. and Mary Susan Seagraves Bellamy (Isaacs).
He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy; and three sisters, Alberta, Agnes Rogers Wilburn and Betty Beuk Fontaine.
He is survived by his wife, Freda Sammons Bellamy of Bridgeville, Pa.; a son, Robert Jr. (Cathy) and daughter Shari (Thomas Sand) and three grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Sand and Kate Bellamy, all of Upper St. Clair, Pa.
In celebration of Bob’s life, the family will receive friends and family from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, and a memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct.10. Both will take place at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson.

Lowell Emerson Haney - 1931-2009
Lowell Emerson Haney, 78, of Grayson, Ky., passed away Tuesday, Oct.6, 2009, at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born May 18, 1931, in Carter County, Ky., a son of the late Ralph and Mildred Cartee Haney.
He was a self-employed heavy-equipment operator. Mr. Haney served in the U.S. Army at the rank of sergeant. During his service in Korea, he was decorated with the United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and two Bronze Stars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen, and two brothers, Ray and Theron Haney.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Harriett Lawson Haney of Grayson; two children, Lowell E. Haney Jr. of Hickory, N.C., and Lisa Haney Boggs of Olive Hill, Ky.; three grandsons, Brendan Haney, Joseph Haney and Zachary Boggs; two brothers, Frank Haney of Columbus, Ohio, and Rufus Haney of Carter City, Ky.; four sisters, Loretta Davis of Greenup, Ky., Linda Gullion of Glenco, Ky., Lucille Roberts of Cleveland, Tenn., and Lois Wentz of Apopka, Fla.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Oct. 8, 2009. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at the funeral home. Military rites by the Olive Hill American Legion Post 138 and burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens.

Robert E. Branham - 1935-2009
Robert Eugene Branham, 74, of 1152 Highway 32, Louisa, Ky., died Oct. 6, 2009 in Louisa.
Mr. Branham was born Oct. 3, 1935, in Martin, Ky., a son of the late Oscar and Daisy Slone Branham.
He was a maintenance supervisor at J.J. Jordan Geriatric Center, a member of the Louisa Rotary Club and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a graduate of Martin High School, a member of the Martin “Purple Flash” basketball team and attended Union College in Barbourville, Ky.
He worked as one of Louisville’s most popular DJs at WINN Radio. He continued his broadcasting career at several other stations in Paris and Prestonsburg, Ky., and taught broadcasting in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Later, he owned his own business in Louisa. He was an active member of his community and his church, Louisa United Methodist Church, where he served as youth group leader and an active member of the choir. He was involved in his children’s activities. He supported the Lawrence County band, football and track teams. He loved being an armchair quarterback and was known to fix a mean spaghetti and meatball dinner for the team that even attracted players from the rival teams.
He loved his family, his dogs, fishing and golfing with his buddies on what he called the most beautiful golf course.
Surviving are his wife, Jane K. Wallace Branham of Louisa; two daughters, Robin (Robert) Moler and Amber (Darel) Estes, all of Danville, Ky.; three sons, Christopher (Rachael) Miller of Louisville, Ky., and Matthew (April) Miller and Geoffrey Branham, all of Louisa; six grandchildren; and a very special fishing buddy, Hershey.
The funeral will be at noon Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at Louisa United Methodist Church by the Rev. Guy Moyer.
Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Louisa United Methodist Church Building Fund.
Young Funeral Home in Louisa is in charge of arrangements.

Paula Ray, 37, of Ashland, died Wednesday in South East Georgia Health Systems in Brunswick, Ga.
Her husband, Gary Ray, survives.

Juliana Reynolds
Juliana Reynolds, 92, of Roseville, Minn., formerly of Ashland, died Tuesday.
Her husband, James Reynolds, preceded her in death.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum.
Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland.

Henry Eldridge Jr., 75, of Winchester, died Tuesday in St. Joseph Hospital East in Lexington.

Harlen James - 1931-2009
Harlen E. James, 78, of Greenup, died Tuesday in South Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born July 20, 1931, in Buena Vista, Ohio.
His wife, Jessie Lyons James, survives.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Fellowship Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in South Shore, with military rites by James L. Flannery American Legion Post 276 of South Shore.

Ruth Morgan - 1933-2009
Ruth Pauline Morgan, 76, of Laurelville, Ohio, died Wednesday.
She was born Feb. 11, 1933, in Webbville.
