Kathryn Jean Wallace Farley (1934-2008)
Kathryn Jean Wallace Farley, 73, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, in Community Hospice Care Center.
She was born Nov. 22, 1934, in Ashland, Ky., the daughter of the late Cecil and Edith Clemons Wallace.
She was a homemaker and attended Rose Hill Baptist Church. She was a member of Mother Smuckers, attended Rose Hill Sunday school, was a Kentucky colonel and an Ashland High School Class of 1952 graduate.
She is survived by her husband, Gene E. Farley; children Chris Farley and his wife, Tracy, of USAF Base, North Carolina, Rebecca Kinder Reed and her husband, Tom, of Burlington, Ohio, Bill Kinder and his wife, Katie, of South Point, Ohio, and Joe Kinder and his wife, Sandie, of New Vienna, Ohio; stepchildren Tammi Stutler and her husband, Barry, of South Point and Tim Farley and his wife, Donna, of Somerset, Ky.; 13 grandchildren, Judi Reed, Paul Reed, A.J. Reed, Will Kinder, Paula Kinder, James David Kinder, Mandy Kinder, Jason Farley, Nick Clay, Wes Clay, Crystal Stutler, Grant Farley and Trent Farley; and two great-grandchildren, Angelina Kinder and Antonio Kinder.
Funeral services will be at noon today, Aug. 29, 2008, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland by Jim Stamper, minister. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends after 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Betty Booth (1926-2008)
Betty Booth, 81, of Ashland, died Thursday in King’s Daughters Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 21, 1926, in Ashland, the daughter of the late William Patrick and Claudia Pruitt Patrick. She was the wife of the late Cornealious Booth.
She is survived by her daughters, Claudia Sue Withrow of Ortonville, Mich., Glenna Jo Akers of Flatwoods, Ky., and Shirley Jean Booth of Ashland, and her son, Charlie Joe Booth of Ashland. She is the loving sister of Maxine Faulkner of St. Petersburg, Fla., Dorothy Howard of Ashland, Elizabeth Compton of Ashland and the late Bonnie Blevins of Ashland. She was the grandmother of two grandsons, John and George Akers, and three granddaughters, Michele Nutt, Melissa Hankin and Tracy Withrow. She was the great-grandmother of John Lindsey, Brandon Nutt, Alex Hankin, Christopher Henne, Skylar Henne, Ian Akers, Allison Akers and Annie Akers.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland. There will be no funeral service.

Clyde Pinkerton (1925-2008)
Clyde Pinkerton, 83, of Ashland, Ky., died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, in Wurtland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Pinkerton was born Jan. 27, 1925, in Greenup County, Ky., a son of the late William B. Pinkerton and Bertha Young Pinkerton.
He was also preceded in death by brothers Glen and William Pinkerton and sister Virginia Leibee.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a retired custodian with the Boyd County School District and a member of the American Legion post in Grayson, Ky.
Surviving are a special niece who cared for him, Bertha “Janie” McCormick; three brothers, Donald Pinkerton of Ashland, Robert Pinkerton of Catlettsburg, Ky., and Ray Pinkerton of Ironton, Ohio; and two sisters, Celia Sanders of Atlanta, Ga., and Myrtle Whildin of Millville, N.J.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at Kirby Flats Cemetery, with military rites by Ceredo-Kenova American Legion Post 93.
There will be no visitation.
Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
Alonzo E. Morris (1936-2008)
Alonzo E. Morris, 71, passed away at 12:15 a.m. Aug. 27, 2008, at his home in Ironton, Ohio.
Mr. Morris was born Dec. 12, 1936, to the late Ernest Sr. and Bessie Huffman Morris. Alonzo was a 1955 graduate of Raceland High School. He was of the Baptist faith, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from CSX Railroad.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, and his son, Terry Morris.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Willis of Kitts Hill, Ohio; his twin sister, Avalene E. Morris of California; his brother, Ernest Morris Jr. (Patty) of Paintsville, Ky., and his faithful companion, Judy M. Mills of Ironton. He is also survived by a special aunt, Opal Plummer; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, by Jason Plummer at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 29 at the funeral home. Burial will be in McGuire Cemetery in Greenup County.
Robert Fannin
Robert L. Fannin, 68, of Georgetown, died Thursday at his residence.
Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods is in charge of arrangements, which are pending.
Dale Duncan (1953-2008)
Dale Duncan of Elizabethtown, formerly of Olive Hill, died Wednesday in Hardin Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service will be at noon Saturday at Olive Hill Memorial Park.
Kristia Kouns (1957-2008)
Kristia Susan Kouns, 50, of Rush, died Thursday in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Her husband, Richard D. Kouns, survives.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson.
Friends may call from after 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Thelma Smith (1944-2008)
Thelma J. Smith, 64, of Grayson, died Monday in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Her husband, Fredrick Smith, survives.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.

Casey Pollard
Casey Pollard, 3, daughter of Bonnie Butler of Lewis County, died Thursday from injuries she received in an automobile accident.
Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill is in charge of arrangements, which are pending.
Virgie Kimbler (1920-2008)
Virgie Ratliff Kimbler, 88, of Paintsville, died Thursday in Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.
She was born Jan. 1, 1920, in Johnson County.
Her husband, Raymond B. Kimbler, died in 1969.
The funeral will be at noon Saturday at Jones-Preston Funeral Home in Paintsville. Burial will be in Ratliff Cemetery in Paintsville.
Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today and until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
Geneva Crace
Geneva Howard Crace, 88, of Salyersville, died Tuesday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Magoffin County Funeral Home in Salyersville.

Amelia Dummitt (1933-2008)
Amelia Louise Dummitt, 74, of Garrison, died Thursday at her residence.
She was born Sept. 28, 1933, at Kehoe.
Her husband, Monroe Dummitt, survives.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg. Burial will be in Bear Cemetery on Tick Ridge.
