Alice P. Lowe (1926-2008)
Alice P. Lowe, 81, of Piketon, Ohio, formerly of Ashland, died Sunday at Pike County Community Hospital. She was born Nov. 22, 1926, in Ashland, the daughter of the late Ercell and Dessie Conroy Poole. She was a telephone operator for GTE, where she retired in 1983.
She also was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Poole.
Survivors include one daughter, Dessie Lowe of Ashland; one brother, Charles Poole of Ashland; and a sister-in-law, Miriam Poole of Ashland.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Steen Funeral Home, Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. C.J. Adkins. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Constance Ford (1918-2008)
Constance Lavonne Ford, 89, of Ashland passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility. She was born Sept. 14, 1918, in Hamilton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ray E. and Esther Graf Penick. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a retired school teacher for the Boyd County, Garrard County and Ashland City School systems. Her memberships include Colonial Dames, DAR, Three Arts Club, Red Hat Society, Retired Teachers Association, a former board member for Friends of Hospice, a volunteer for King’s Daughters Medical Center; a docent at Highlands Museum, First Presbyterian Church Ladies Circle, Representative to Kentucky Synod Presbyterian Church and a representative to the Lexington Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Bryan College in Dayton, Tenn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Forrest S. Ford in 1989, who was a former minister at Normal Presbyterian Church; one sister, Helen Johnson; two brothers, Ralph and Landis Penick; and a grandson, Hunter Long.
Survivors include three sons, Dr. Jerald M. Ford and his wife, Donna, of Catlettsburg; one daughter, Yvonne Long and her husband, Wayland of Tullahoma, Tenn.; one sister, Thora Forrester of Manassas, Va.; three brothers, Dr. Richard Q. Penick of Jensen Beach, Fla., Frank Penick of Louisville and Jack Penick of Charlotte, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Dr. Richard Forrest Ford of Ashland, Elliott Cammle of Lancaster, Christy E. Ford of Ashland, JoEl English Ford of Lancaster, Alexis Long of New Brunswick, N.J., Kelley Ford of Berea, Allison Ford of Catlettsburg and Matthew Ford of Catlettsburg; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services are scheduled, with the Rev. James Brazell officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 1600 Winchester Ave., Ashland, Ky. 41101, or Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, Ky. 41101.

Judy Blair (1954-2008)
Judy Ann Blair, 54, of East Main Street, Greenup, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell.
Mrs. Blair was born May 30, 1954, in Ashland, a daughter of Robert Henry Wamsley of Killeen, Texas, and the late Edna May Davis Stapleton.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Ray Blair, whom she was married to for 21 years.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Michael Heath (Lori) Blankenship of Sevierville, Tenn., and David (Mary) Blankenship of Piketon, Ohio; one daughter, Tracy (John) Rexroad of Waverly, Ohio; one brother, John (Kathy) Wamsley of Columbus; two sisters, Bonnie Miles (Troy Triplett) and Jerri (Carl) Triplett, all of Greenup; two half brothers, Karl (Brenda) Wamsley of Waco, Texas, and Robert (Mary) Wamsley of Austin, Texas; three half sisters, Renate (Wayne) Claunch of Killeen, Texas, Dorothy (Harold) Dorgelo of Leander, Texas, and Gabriella (Robert) Williams of Coopers Cove, Texas; and two grandchildren, Hope Rexroad and Noah Rexroad.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Jerry Sturgill. Burial will be in Kirby Flats Cemetery in Boyd County.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Glen Fraley (1930-2008)
Glen “Judge” Fraley, 78, of Sandy Hook passed away Saturday, August 16, 2008, at Elliott Nursing & Rehab Center in Sandy Hook.
He was born May 5, 1930, in Elliott County, the son of the late Amos and Helen Fraley. He was a retired carpenter with Carpenters Local 472 at Ashland., a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War Era and was a member of American Legion Post 342 in Willard.
He also was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, J.B., Berdine, Orville, Rasheo, Arlie Fraley, Mabel Ison, Audrey Burke, and Pearl Fraley.
He is survived by his wife, Laverne Holbrook Fraley; two stepchildren, Teresa Porter of Elizabethtown and Hershel Paul Prince of Bruin; nine stepgrandchildren; and 11 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, with Bro. Billy T. Rice officiating. Burial will be in Elliott County Memory Gardens.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
David Thompson (1957-2008)
David Woodrow Thompson, 50, of Sandy Hook passed away Saturday, August 16, 2008, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
He was born Oct. 19, 1957, in Ashland, the son of Emogene Adkins Thompson of Sandy Hook and the late Robert Woodrow “Pete” Thompson.
In addition, David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He had also completed Hobart Welding School in Troy, Ohio; was a pipefitter and welder with Local 521 in Huntington, W.Va. He was a member of Sandy Hook First Baptist Church.
Besides his father, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Malcolm “Mac” Thompson and a son-in-law, Austin Allen Ison.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Katie Manning Thompson; three daughters, Jill Copley, Tara Griffith and Whitney Thompson; three sons, Mike Copley, Brandon Griffith and Tyler Cain; three grandchildren, Skylar and Ethan Copley and Jaden Ison; and a sister, Kay Howard of Morehead.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook with Bro. Kendall Brainard and Bro. Warren Vanover officiating. Burial will be in Elliott County Memory Gardens.

Hilda Felczuk (1926-2008)
Hilda Florence Green Felczuk, 81, of Ironton passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at a local health care facility. The Orange, N.J., native was born Aug. 23, 1926, the daughter of the late David and Sarah Margolin Green. She was the wife of the late John L. Felczuk. She was a member of the Ascension Parish in Virginia Beach, Va., and was also a member of the Rainbow Group at the Ascension Church. She also was employed by NorshipCo for 20 years and retired in 1992.
Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Bernadette and Christopher Dean of Ashland, Laura Edmunds of Virginia Beach and Jackqueline Felczuk of Norfolk, Va.; one son, David Felczuk of Hampton, Va.; one granddaughter, Courtney Edmunds of Virginia Beach; and two grandsons, Brian Edmunds of Virginia Beach and Benjamin Dean of Ashland.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ironton with Father Tim Kozak officiating.
Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. today with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South 7th St., Ironton.

William J. "Billy' Thacker, of Ashland died Saturday at his home.
He was born Aug. 5, 1979, in Ashland.

Janie Turner Slone, 58, of Grayson died Thursday at her home.
She was born July 23, 1950, in Topmost.

Tillie Meade, 89, of Paintsville died Saturday at Mt. Manor Nursing Home in Paintsville.
She was born June 23, 1919, in Johnson County.
Her husband, Roby Meade, preceded her in death.
