Jerry Ray - 1948-2008
Jerry Maxwell Ray has found eternal peace with the Heavenly Father following his passing Saturday morning, July 12, 2008, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Mr. Ray was 59 years of age, born Nov. 13, 1948, in Cabell County, W.Va., the son of the late Jefferson and Veronica Hubble Ray. Jerry served our great nation during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Marine Corps and drove for Canteen Service for 28 years.
Left behind is his adoring wife of 29 years, Rosa Evans Ray. Together they have shared such a happy life most could only dream of. He also leaves a beautiful daughter, Angela Leith, and her husband, Mark, and a grandson, Clark Evan Leith; and cousins John Crabtree, Dave Crabtree and Patricia King and her husband, Roger, who is Jerry’s brother at heart and spirit.
To mark forever our memory of Jerry, a service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg. Pastor Mike Blankenship will bring an uplifting message and Brother J.J. Hicks, Jerry’s colleague and close friend, will share a heartfelt eulogy. Full military honors will be observed at the service for this veteran.
Those wishing to call on the Ray family may do so after 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Hannah Clark
Hannah Ross Clark, 90, of Owensboro, formerly of Catlettsburg, died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Wellington Pare.
Mrs. Clark and her husband owned the Ross Furniture Store in Catlettsburg. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Catlettsburg, the DAR and the Catlettsburg Woman’s Club. She was a Colonial Dame.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Hunter Emmons Clark; her daughter, Jane Clark Pantle, and her husband C.A. “Ottie;” a granddaughter, Jane Hunter Julian, and her husband, Bret; a grandson, Chris Pantle; and two great-grandchildren, Hunter Anne Julian and Adam Wilson Julian, all of Owensboro.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Owensboro.
Visitation will be fro 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to First Presbyterian Church, 2512 Broadway, Catlettsburg, KY 41129.

Dorothy See - 1913-2008
Dorothy E. See, 95, of Louisa, died Saturday in J.J. Jordan Geriatric Center in Louisa.
She was born June 13, 1913, in New Boston, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ben and Lucy Skeens Heston. She was the wife of Marion Jack See, who passed away in 1985.
She was an office manager at Louisa General Hospital and a member of First Baptist Church of Louisa and Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include one son, Ted (Judy) See of Louisa; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth See of Ashburn, Ga.; five grandchildren, Laurel See, Jack See, Stephen and Ashley See, William and Rebecca See and Michael and Mary Kennedy; and a great-granddaughter, Adelaide Kennedy.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Louisa by Brother Ric Frazier. Burial will be in See Cemetery.
Visitation will be after noon Friday at the church.
Young Funeral Home in Louisa is in charge of arrangements.

Doris Morrison - 1921-2008
Doris Stephens Morrison, 86, of Ashland, died Saturday in Boyd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Oct. 23, 1921, in Carter County.
A funeral Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Church in Ashland. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland.

Judy Jenkins
Judy Jenkins of Proctorville, Ohio, formerly of Ashland, died Sunday at the residence of her son.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland.

Barbara Wessell - 1952 - 2008
Barbara Wessell, 56, of Ashland, died Saturday inCommunity Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
The funeral will be at noon Tuesday at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.

John Prise - 1924-2008
John David Prise, 84, of Wheelersburg, Ohio, formerly of Greenup County, died Saturday in Hospice of Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
He was born April 14, 1924, in Greenup County.
His wife, Alma Prise, preceded him in death.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore. Burial will be in Everman Cemetery in Grayson.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

James Ellington - 1931-2008
James Lowell Ellington, 76, of Morehead, died Friday in the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center in Lexington.
He was born Nov. 30, 1931.
His wife, Shirley Stewart Ellington, survives.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Betty Mauk - 1926-2008
Betty June Hammond Mauk, 81, of Morehead, died Saturday in the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
She was born Oct. 22, 2008.
Her husband, Joe J. Mauk, survives.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sharkey Freewill Baptist Church in Morehead. Burial and a graveside service will be at 4 p.m. in Bales Hill Cemetery at Livingston.
