William Michael Dillon - 1966-2008
William Michael Dillon, 41, of Westwood, Ky., died Thursday, July 10, 2008, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
He was born Aug. 27, 1966, in Indianapolis, Ind., a son of William and Dolly Gilbert Dillon of Westwood.
He was a self-employed steel erector and a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church.
Additional survivors include his wife, Lena Christine Blevins Dillon of Westwood; a daughter, Skylar Dawn Dillon of Westwood; and a brother, Jerry Dillon (Judy) of Flatwoods, Ky.
A private graveside service for family only will be at 11 a.m. today, July 12, 2008, at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum in Ashland by Brother Bill Dillon. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
There will be no visitation.
Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup is in charge of arrangements.

William Richard Barker - 1926-2008
William Richard Barker, 81, of Martha, Ky., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 10, 2008, in Veterans Administration Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va., surrounded by his four children and other family members.
Richard was born Sept. 18, 1926, in Martha, in the log cabin still standing on his family farm, a son of the late Duel Curtis and Rinda Elizabeth Ferguson Barker. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mildred Edith Wheeler Barker; a sister, Myrtle Ruth Barker; a brother, Conrad Russell Barker; and a granddaughter, Vonda Kay Sparks.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna Jean Barker and Jo Ann Roberts (Casey), both of Louisa; and two sons, Danny Richard Barker (Cassie), also of Louisa, and Lanny Ray Barker (Robin) of Blaine.
He is survived by eight grandchildren, Dr. Reid Roberts, Teresa Moore, Eddie Sparks, Lyndi Sparks, Danielle Cole, Jessica Gussler, Jeff Barker and Curtie Barker; two stepgrandchildren, Mark West and Karri Ross and Kate Nagy Depp, an exchange student. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, Skylar, Shaylon and Saibra Moore, Shelby Cole, Avery and Ethan Roberts, Bayli and Gabe Barker, Destiny and November Sparks and Caleb Barker; four stepgreat-grandchildren, Hailee Pannell, Jacoby Ross, Mark West and Austin Muncy; a niece, Cindi Newlin; two nephews, David Barker and Reggie Wheeler; several cousins; and a very special friend, Lena Ison of Sandy Hook.
Richard was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army in Italy with the Blue Devils. He was a self-employed auto mechanic and welder and owner and operator of Barker’s Garage for more than 40 years. He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church for 65 years, a minister since 1949 and ordained in 1953. During his ministry, he was pastor of Elizabeth Baptist Church, Smokey Valley Enterprise Baptist Church, Smith Chapel and Mazie Enterprise Baptist Church.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 13, 2008, at Elizabeth Baptist Church in Martha by Emmett Barker, Buck West and Venny Vanhoose. Burial with military rites will be in Barker family cemetery in Martha.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook and two hours before services Sunday at the church.

Geneva Ball
Geneva Ball, 72, of Frenchburg, died Thursday in St. Joseph Hospital in Mount Sterling.
Her husband, Frank Ball, preceded her in death.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Menifee Home for Funerals in Frenchburg. Burial will be in Bashford Cemetery in Frenchburg.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Manley Berry - 1921-2008
Manley Jack Berry, 87, of Louisa, died Thursday in J.J. Jordan Geriatric Center in Louisa.
He was born April 2, 1921, in Sand Branch.
His wife, Ida Belle Fannin Berry, survives.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Young Funeral Home in Louisa. Burial will be in Berry Cemetery in Sand Branch.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

James Vanhorn - 1926-2008
James Edward Vanhorn, 82, of Louisa, died Thursday in Louisa.
He was born June 4, 1926, in Louisa.
His wife, Patricia Debord Vanhorn, survives.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Smith Chapel Church in Louisa. Burial will be in Vanhorn Cemetery in Webbville.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Young Funeral Home in Louisa is in charge of arrangements.
