Joyce Cavin Baldridge - 1935-2008
Joyce Cavin Baldridge, 72, of Flatwoods, Ky., died July 7, 2008, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
She was born Aug. 7, 1935, in Flatwoods, a daughter of the late Holly and Beatrice Castle Cavin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Baldridge, and a sister, Doris Hensley.
She was a homemaker and a member of Wurtland Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Raymond Grant (Kim) Baldridge of Russell, Ky.; a brother, James (Sakuko) Cavin of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Hazel (Wetzel) Lee of Worthington, Ky.; three grandchildren, Dustin Baldridge of Bardstown, Ky., and Nick and Molly Baldridge, both at home; and several nieces and nephews.
She loved her grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 10 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods by the Rev. Marvin Boggs. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.

Mark Edward Pyle - 1963-2008
Mr. Mark Edward Pyle, 45, of Jordan Fork in Olive Hill, Ky., passed away Monday, July 7, 2008, at his residence.
Mr. Pyle was born Feb. 7, 1963, in Scioto County, Ohio, a son of Janet Ruby Pyle Holcomb and the late Clarence Pyle.
He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Joe Sowards.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carolyn Sparks Pyle; two daughters and a son-in-law, Stephanie and Rodney Ball and Kimberly Pyle of Carter City, Ky.; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Nancy Ruby of Columbus, Ohio, Steve and Debbie Pyle of Deland, Fla., Ted and B.J. Miller of Portsmouth, Ohio, Eddie and Jessica Pyle of Tennessee and James and Donna Holcomb of South Shore, Ky.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Melinda and Leonard Timmer of Port Orange, Fla., and Michelle Sowards and Marcella and Paul Masonbauker of Columbus, Ohio; a grandson, Jordan Ball; and a granddaughter on the way. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery on Route 2 in Olive Hill.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
John McGlone, Eugene Dean, Rodney Ball, Ted Miller, Johnny Miller, Kevin McGlone, Scott Brickey and David Willoughby will serve as pallbearers.
Jacob Ethan Tackett - 2000-2008
Eight-year-old Jacob Ethan Tackett of Vanceburg, Ky., passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 6, 2008, at 9:17 a.m. He was the son of Jacob Joe Tackett and Jessica Lynn Smith Tackett of Vanceburg.
Jacob Ethan was born May 30, 2000, in Portsmouth, Ohio. He attended school in the Lewis County district for five years.
Surviving besides his parents are a sister, Keelee Tackett of Vanceburg; maternal grandparents John and Linda Hamilton of Vanceburg; great-grandparent Gay Smith of Vanceburg; and paternal grandparents Hays and Cathleen Tackett of Garrison, Ky.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Quincy Church of Christ in Quincy, Ky., by the Rev. Carlos Newman and the Rev. Kenneth Cooley.
Entombment will be in Lewis County Memory Gardens in Black Oak, Ky.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and after 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Gaydos Funeral Home in Vanceburg is in charge of arrangements.

Ambrose Johnson, 86, of Ashland, died Tuesday in King’s Daughters Medical Center.
His wife, Jane “Polly” Salyers Johnson, survives.

Delores Kearns
Delores Kearns, 85, of Worthington, died Monday in Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.

Terri Marie Hurtt Cole, 25, of Sandy Hook, died Friday in Middletown, Ohio.
She was born Feb. 13, 1983, in Middletown.
The funeral was at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook. Burial was in Town Cemetery.
Glenna Robinette - 1979-2008
Glenna Elizabeth Adkins Robinette, 28, of Richmond, died Monday at her residence.
She was born Oct. 8, 1979 in Morehead.

Anna Tackett - 1941-2008
Anna June Ward Tackett, 67, of Richmond, died Monday in University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.
She was born Jan. 21, 1941, in Johnson County.
Her husband, Fred Tackett, survives.

Juanita Morrill - 1913-2008
Juanita Harvey Caldwell Morrill, 94, of Lexington, died Monday in Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
She was born Aug. 10, 1913, in Wyoming County, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ollie Samuel Caldwell and Frank Allen Morrill.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hall Funeral Home in Martin. Burial will be in Davidson Memorial Gardens at Ivel.
James Wasson - 1957-2008
James Earl Wasson, 50, of Dearborn, Mich., died Thursday in Dearborn.
He was born Dec. 1, 1957, in Detroit.
His wife, Diane Barnes Wasson, survives.

Evelyn Kinstler, 86, of Kitts Hill, died Monday in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
She was born Jan. 11, 1922, in Dayton, Ky.
Her husband, David T. “Pete” Kinstler, died in 1992.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton. Burial will be in Sugar Creek Cemetery.
