Walter Archie Fulford (1947-2009)
Walter Archie Fulford, 61, of Ashland, husband of Jennifer Hall Fulford, died Sunday morning, June 21, 2009, at Community Hospice Care Center following an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 13, 1947, at West Swanzey, N.H., a son of the late Archibald Cleveland Fulford and Pauline Rixford Fulford Morrison of Ashland.
He also was preceded in death by a son, James E. Kirk in 2002.
Walter was a retired transport driver with JRB Trucking, and was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the North American Hunting and Fishing Club. He loved the outdoors and was a big NASCAR fan.
Survivors, in addition to his wife and mother, include one son, Walter Archie Fulford Jr. (Penny) of Ashland; two daughters, Heather Jeane ll Kirk (Hank Newcomb) and Crystal Rene Hicks (David Clark), all of Ironton, Ohio; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday at Preston Family Funeral Home by Bro. Jack Parsons. Interment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park with military graveside rites by the Ironton VFW Post 8850.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service time at the funeral home.

Deborah Lee Barnett (1951-2009)
Deborah Lee Barnett, 58, of Flatwoods passed from this world on June 21, 2009, preceded in death by her daughter April D. Barney in 2001.
Debby was a fun loving and happy woman, her bright smile and upbeat attitude will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She kept that same attitude through her struggle with cancer. Our heartfelt thanks go to our cousin, Sandy ‘Sis’ Bayes for being such a precious caregiver during Debby’s illness. It will never be forgotten. Also sincere thanks to all who took the time to stop and visit her before her passing. Many came a long distance, and to do so shows just how much she was loved.
Debby was born January 21, 1951, in Kenova, W.Va., a daughter of the late Richard C. and Betty Guisinger Barnett.
She is survived by a son, Billy Barker of Raceland; two brothers, David Barnett and wife Debbie of Lexington and Greg Barnett of Ashland; four sisters, Rita McAllister and husband Gary of Flatwoods, Diann Moore and husband Larry and Rose Barnes and husband Mike, all of Columbus, Ohio, and Kin Blair of Ashland; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland by Bro. Michael Rice.
Friends may visit from 2 p.m. until the service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to Community Hospice Care Center, 2330 Pollard Road, Ashland, KY 41101.

James Bullion (1918-2009)
James Homer Bullion, 91, of Argillite died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell. He was born March 10, 1918, in Greenup county, the son of Scott and Rosie Morman Bullion. He was the husband of the late Mary Ellen Stacey Bullion, who died Jan. 25, 2009. He was a self-employed farmer.
He also was preceded in death by two sons, Darrell Bullion and Kenneth Bullion; one daughter, Nola Hicks; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Survivors include seven sons and daughters-in-law, Bennie and Donna Bullion of Ashland, Larry Bullion, James and Carol Bullion, Jesse and Jean Bullion, Jerry and Jean Bullion and Phillip and Kay Bullion, all of Danleyton, and Paul and Cindy Bullion of Marion, Ohio; four daughters and sons-in-law, Bernice and Larry Barker and Susie and Steve Barker, all of Danleyton, and Sheila and Dave Moore and Rosie and Tom Johnson, all of Ashland; 33 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Virgil Bullion of Ashland; and one sister, Juanita Hicks of Huntington, W.Va.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Danleyton Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Miles officiating. Burial will be in Huff Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Barker Jr., Stanley Barker, Tracy Barker, David Barker, Larry Barker, Travis Barker and Scottie Bullion.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are asked to be sent to the family to defer funeral expenses.

Walter Potter (1927-2009)
Walter Eugene Potter, 81, of Flatwoods has gone to join his beloved wife of 60 years, Wanda Jean Mayse Potter, on Friday, June 19, 2009. He was born Oct. 16, 1927, in Portsmouth, Ohio, the son of the late Elmer and Mary Kirk Potter. He worked for C&O Railroad and was a boilermakers helper. He was a member of Freedom Worship Church of God in Greenup.
He also was preceded in death by a son, Wetzel E. Potter; and two brothers, Russell Potter and Homer Potter.
He leaves behind two sons, Gary David (Donna) Potter of Flatwoods and Mark Allan Potter of Ironton; two daughters, Linda Sue Pauley (Bill) of Ashland and Roberta Ann Potter of Flatwoods; two sisters, Bernice Stephens of Ashland and Nola King of Wurtland; and two brothers, Herman Potter of South Shore and Kenneth F. Potter of Ashland; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be sadly missed.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home by Dr. Tom Melvin and Pastor Kevin Whitt. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
Dorothy Gee (1932-2009)
Dorothy Jean Carroll Gee, 76, of Grayson, a Christian woman went to be with the Lord about 6 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2009, at her home of 50 years. She was born Dec. 11, 1932, in Grahn, the oldest child of Grady and Lillian James Carroll. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church where she worshiped and enjoyed attending very much. She attended school in Grahn and graduated from Olive Hill High School. There she met Roy Gee and later they married. Roy and Dorothy moved to Grayson and built their home in 1959. In 1960 they owned and operated Gee’s Texaco garage across from the Shangri-La Motel and restaurant for about eight years. The last two years Roy drove a tractor trailer while Dorothy ran the garage. Then in 1975 Roy became the Carter County Circuit Clerk, with Dorothy as deputy clerk for 25 years. On Nov. 7, 2002, Dorothy had a stroke and was diagnosed with cancer and was bedfast for almost seven years. Because of the blessings of God, he sent the Gee family three wonderful ladies, Annette Mann, Jo Ann Knipp and Kelly Jo Popplewell that took care of her in her home just like a family member. Dorothy was a member of the Carter County Gideon’s and also a member of the Grayson Younger Woman’s Club, Woman’s Rotary Club and she was a Godsent wife, mother and grandmother.
Her survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Alan and Karen Barnhill Gee of Grayson; one grandson Chad Alan Gee of Grayson; one sister Janet Rea Knipp of Olive Hill; and many nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Roy T. Gee and one sister Maratha Ann Phillips. Romans 10:9
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Randy Binion minister. Entombment will be in the East Carter County Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today, and after 9 a.m. Tuesday until the service time.
Those privileged to serve as pallbearers will be Chad A. Gee, Robert A. Gee, Mike Tackett, Terry Popplewell, Ted Estes, David Knipp and Garrett Davis.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Carter County Gideons.

Dalmas Blair
Dalmas Blair, 68, of Denver died Saturday at his home.
His wife, Thelma Ann Blair, survives.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Paintsville Funeral Home. Burial will be in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery in Staffordsville.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Brenda Wright
Brenda Mabry Wright, 47, of Hillsboro, formerly of Sandy Hook, died Saturday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook. Burial will be in Elliott County Memory Gardens.
Visitation after 6 p.m. today and until the service hour on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Paul Ramey (1940-2009)
Paul Kenneth Ramey, 69, of Morehead died Saturday at his home.
He was born Jan. 21, 1940.
His wife, Shirley Lewis Ramey, survives.
Funeral will be at noon Tuesday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ethel Jordan
Ethel England Jordan, 83, of Salyersville died Saturday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Magoffin County Funeral Home in Salyersville.
Visitation anytime today at the funeral home.
