Claudine Foster - 1929-2008
Claudine Mae Foster, 79, a life-long resident of Catlettsburg passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Wurtland Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born May 1, 1929, at home, a daughter of the late Heber Claude and Florence Stanley-Foster. She was retired from Adel Fasteners in Huntington, W.Va. She was a member of the Hyland Heights Baptist Church, a past member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Rebekahs, Order of the Eastern Star, and an honorary member of the United Steelworkers of America Local 4014.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings; Walter Clemont, Danny Mac, Betty Lou, Fred, and Billy Arthur. She was also preceded in death by one great-nephew, Greg Ferguson.
Claudine is survived by four nieces, Debbie Claudette Bryan, Joyce Ferguson, Linda “Cookie” Lastition and Claudine Curtis; two nephews, John Foster Moore and Freddie Darrell Conley; and one dear sister-in-law, Francis Cyrus Conley; and two more generations of nieces, nephews, and several close friends, too many to name.
The family would like to thank all employees of Wurtland Nursing and Rehab for their loving care and attention, especially the back-north side, and Community Hospice Care Center of Ashland.
Burial will be Monday, June 16, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland. Condolences may be sent to the family c/o PO Box 149, Catlettsburg, KY 41129; and/or online at www.ceredo-kenovafuneralhome.com.
There will be no visitation or funeral services.
Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Goldie Gibson - 1928-2008
Goldie May Wagner Gibson, 80, of Lloyd died Friday, June 13, 2008, at her residence. She was born in Ironton, Ohio, Feb. 14, 1928, a daughter of the late Dan Wagner and Lula Hopkins Wagner.
She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and also a homemaker.
She also was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Duncan; a brother, Joe Wagner; a stepdaughter, Pam Howard; and a granddaughter, Angel Carlene Mangus.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil V. Gibson, whom she married Aug. 26, 1989; one son, Curt Mangus of Greenup; five daughters, Christine Ruggles, Cathy Pennington and Janet Music, all of South Shore, Carol Duncan of St. Paul and Alfrieda Frost of Russell Point, Ohio; three step children, Eddie Gibson and Roger Gibson, both of West Mansfield, Ohio, and Angie Hamilton of Richwood, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, with the Revs. Glenn Newsome and Darrell Musick officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Ebo Cemetery, Rt. 1, South Shore.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Marie Caudill - 1924-2008
Marie Caudill, 83, of Louisa died Friday at the J.J. Jordan Geriatric Center.
She was born Nov. 23, 1924, in Logan, W.Va.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Catalpa Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will be in Cordle Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Louisa, and after noon on Monday at the church.
James Wells - 1944-2008
James Warren Wells, 63, of Elizabethton, Tenn., died Tuesday at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
He was born Oct. 20, 1944.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Jones Preston Funeral Chapel in Paintsville.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park in Staffordsville.
There will be no visitation.
Margaret Gilliam - 1934-2008
Margaret Jane Gilliam, 73, of Douglasville, Ga., died Friday at her home.
She was born Sept. 17, 1934, in Awe in Lewis County.
Her husband, Clifford Gilliam, preceded her in death.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg. Burial will be in Morgan Cemetery in Laurel.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Loretta Frasure - 1937-2008
Loretta F. Frasure, 70, of Hueysville died Saturday at her home.
She was born Aug. 3, 1937, in Hueysville.
Her husband, Don Frasure, survives.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home Chapel in Martin. Entombment will be in the Frasure-Prater Cemetery in Hueysville.
Alvin Taylor - 1956-2008
Alvin “Butch” Marshall Taylor, 51, of Olive Hill, formerly of Floyd County, died Friday at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born Nov. 15, 1956, in Prestonsburg.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home Chapel in Martin. Burial will be in Gethsemane Gardens in Prestonsburg.
