Melissa “Lisa” Cox Clark (1975-2008)
Melissa “Lisa” Cox Clark, age 32, of Ashland, Ky., died Friday, May 23, 2008 in Ashland.
She was born July 28, 1975, in Ironton, Ohio, a daughter of Susan Clark Bayless and the late Larry Cox.
Additional survivors include a son, Kameron Clark of Martin County, Ky.; a daughter, Emily Cox of Martin County; four brothers, Steven Cox of West Virginia, Larry Cox Jr. of Ironton, Ohio, Benjamin Cox of Ashland and Christopher Bayless of West Virginia; two sisters, Misty Cox of Catlettsburg and Cheyanna Bayless of Ashland; her boyfriend, Scott Williams of Ashland; her stepmother, Sharon Cox of Kissimmee, Fla.; paternal grandfather, Chuck Dolen of Deering, Ohio; maternal grandmother, Joyce McKnight of Ashland; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today, May 27, 2008 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky., by the Rev. Scotty Grooms. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Steven Cox, Larry Cox Jr., Benjamin Cox, Christopher Bayless, Ted Mills and Joe Bayless.

George Edison Wright (1930-2008)
George Edison Wright, 78, of Ashland, died Saturday, May 24, 2008 in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Mr. Wright was born in Glenwood, a son of Jake and Pluma Blankenship Wright. He was the widower of Carol Hale Wright, who died in 1973.
Mr. Wright was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army and was retired as maintenance foreman from Armco Steel. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church and the Ashland High School Class of 1948 Reunion Committee.
He is survived by a son, Paul David Wright and his wife, Susan of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; a daughter, Vicki Wright James of Ashland; two grandchildren, Daniel Tobin and Renee Wright and Michael Allen and Allison James; three great-grandchildren, Linden Wright, Tanner Allen James and Logan Hale James; two sisters, Helen Hall and her husband, Everett of Westwood and Lillian Amburgey of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; special friends, Carl and Omerea Sparks, Paul and Polly Eastham, Wanda Sutphin, Lin Arnett and Roberta Umberger; and several special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be today, May 27, 2008 at noon at Unity Baptist Church in Ashland by Dr. Floyd Paris and the Rev. Charles E. Stewart. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour before the service at the church.

Vonda “Granny” Gullett (1931-2008)
Vonda “Granny” Gullett, 76, of Whittier Road, Greenup, Ky., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at her home.
Mrs. Gullett was born Sept. 23, 1931, in Holden, W.Va., a daughter of the late Howard K. and Lucy Davis Boyle.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Chester Eugene Gullett; a grandson, Cpl. Jeremy Gullett; a great-granddaughter, Angel Grace Gullett; a brother, Howard Boyle; and two sisters, Maxine Qualls and Shirley Barndollar.
She was a retired baker after several years with Applegate Foodland in Greenup, was a member of Hunnewell United Baptist Church and the Little Sandy Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by six sons, Everett (Lettie) Gullett, Johnny (Bonnie) Gullett, Ronald (Brenda) Gullett, Harold (Cheryl) Gullett, and Kent (Barbara) Gullett, all of Greenup and Greg (Debbie) Gullett of Grayson, Ky.; two daughters, Vanessa (Dave) Greene of Greenup and Kyle (Roger) Fraley of Argillite, Ky.; two brothers, Glen Boyle of Greenup and Clabert Boyle of Worthington, Ky.; three sisters, Juanita Gullett of Felicity, Ohio, Neva Greathouse of Greenup, and Lucy Runyon of Kitts Hill, Ohio; one half sister, Alanta Stephens of Greenup; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Brother Danny Brown and Brother Roger Blevins. Burial will be in Gullett-Greene Cemetery on Whittier Road, Greenup.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. tonight and one hour before the funeral on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Carl Lee Hunt (1946-2008)
Carl Lee Hunt, 62, of South Shore, Ky., died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at his residence.
He was born March 15, 1946, in Greenup County, Ky., a son of the late Frank Hunt and Maude Cook Hunt.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge and American Legion Post 471, all of Portsmouth, Ohio.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Lee Meadows Hunt of South Shore; three sons, Bruce Hunt, Steve Sparks and Charles McKenzie, all of South Shore; three daughters, Rhonda Bivens and Kimberly Clark, both of South Shore, and Melinda Whitt of Greenup, Ky.; one brother, Billy Joe Hunt of South Shore; three sisters, Francis Bannister of Cartersville, Ga., Minnie Sally of Flatwoods, Ky., and Ethel Craycraft of Greenup and 14 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were five brothers, Kash Allen, James Thompson, Everett Thompson, Russell Hunt and Estel Hunt; and one sister, May Mathews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore with the Rev. Rodney Evans officiating. Burial will be in Long Cemetery in Greenup.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight and at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Cecil Hinton
Cecil M. Hinton, 91, of Ashland, died Monday in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Agnes Russell Hinton.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Edna Fritz
Edna Mae Fritz, 77, of Wurtland, died Monday in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Sammie Reed (1923-2008)
Sammie Reed, 85, of Hager Hill, died Sunday in Prestonsburg Health Care.
He was born March 27, 1923, in Johnson County.
His wife, Nellie Porter Reed, survives.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at East Point Church of Christ. Burial will be in Reed Family Cemetery in East Point.

Jessie Wagoner (1962-2008)
Jessie Wagoner, 45, of Isonville, died Saturday in Elliott County.
He was born Nov. 24, 1962, in Morgan County.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook. Burial will be in Wagoner Family Cemetery in Isonville.

David Steagall (1942-2008)
David McArthur Steagall, 66, of Jeffersonville, formerly of Morehead, died Monday in St. Joseph Hospital in Mount Sterling.
He was born March 18, 1942, in Rowan County.
His wife, Vonda Blevins Steagall, survives.

Brianna Castle (1991-2008)
Brianna Leighayne Castle, 17, of Langley, died Sunday in St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.
She was born Jan. 19, 1991, in Martin.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home in Martin. Burial will be in Davidson Memorial Gardens in Ivel.

James Sharp (1960-2008)
James Rodney Sharp, 48, of Coal Grove, died Sunday at his residence.
He was born Feb. 1, 1960, in Ironton and was the husband of Lula Drown Sharp, who survives.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Woodland Cemetery in Ironton.
