Lillian B. Shepard (1922-2008)

Lillian B. Shepard, age 85, of Venice, Fla., died April 20, 2008.

She was born May 18, 1922, in Charleston, W.Va., to Luther and Pearl Harper Baldwin. She married Gordon Shepard on Nov. 6, 1948, with whom she remained until his death in September 2007.

Lillian was educated in Huntington, W.Va., and worked as a bank teller. She was the first female bank teller in Charleston. She later worked as a bookkeeper in numerous locations in Charleston, Clarksburg, W.Va., and Ashland, Ky. She also was a secretary to a school principal in St. Albans, W.Va. In retirement, she settled with her husband in Venice in 1983.

Survivors include her daughter, Leigh Calitri and husband, Robert of Ashland; and her son, Phillip Shepard and wife, Christina Johnson of Elmira, Ore.

Her favorite activities included reading, working puzzles, handicrafts and taking care of her loving family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel in Florida is in charge of arrangements.

Barry Shane Blackburn (1968-2008)

Barry Shane Blackburn, age 39, of Russell, Ky., passed unexpectedly April 24, 2008 in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.

Barry was born June 30, 1968, a son of Sue Blackburn and the late Lester Blackburn.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Davis Blackburn; two children, Shane Christian Blackburn and Maxxton Keith Blackburn; a sister, Leslie Blackburn-Herzog and brother-in-law, Stephen Herzog of Ashland, Ky.; sister and brother-in-law, Ray and Angie Jarvis; niece, Brittany Morgan Herzog of Bowling Green, Ky.; nephew, Keith Karson Jarvis; and grandparents, Paul and Mary Preston of Grayson, Ky.; and many family, lifelong friends and neighbors whose life he touched.

Barry graduated from Russell High School in 1986. Following his service in the United States Navy, he was employed at Addington Brothers Mining and Kentucky Electric Steel for a number of years. He and his father embarked on the creation of the Eagle’s Nest Golf Course in 1996. Subsequently, he relocated to Florida and pursued his passion specializing in Golf Course Construction Design. Barry was an exceptionally gifted musician and singer/songwriter with the natural talent to play by ear. Barry had many hobbies, including fishing, camping and boating but his #1 priority was his family. Barry devoted his entire life to his family. He was a loving, caring husband and a remarkable father. He enjoyed baseball, football, basketball or any sport or activity that his son was involved in. He loved both his children, Maxx and Shane, with all his heart.

He attended Bridges Christian Church and had recently rededicated his life to Christ in December 2007. Barry will be forever missed but his spirit will live on in each of us who were blessed to have known him.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 27 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 28 at Bridges Christian Church. Interment will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

Following the services, friends and family are invited to the home of Stephen and Leslie Herzog.



David Timberlake

David Timberlake, 61, of South Shore, died Thursday in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Morton Funeral Home in South Shore.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.



Grace Price (1930-2008)

Grace Dixon Ewers Price, 77, of Louisa, died Friday in St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.

She was born May 23, 1930, in Hurricane, W.Va.

Her husband, Gordon Price, survives.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Young Funeral Home in Louisa. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Louisa.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.



Margaret Jordan (1934-2008)

Margaret Alice Jordan, 74, of Vanceburg, died Wednesday in Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.

She was born Feb. 26, 1934, in Garrison.

Her husband, Finley Jordan, survives.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gaydos Funeral Home in Vanceburg. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery in Tannery.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight and after 8 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.



Betty Pridemeore (1934-2008)

Betty Frances Pridemore, 74, of Louisa, died Friday in Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa.

She was born March 15, 1934, in Gallup.

Her husband, Willis Ray Pridemore, preceded her in death.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Richardson Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pridemore Cemetery in Patrick.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. today at the church.

Young Funeral Home in Louisa is in charge of arrangements.



Paul Jennings

Paul P. Jennings, 67, of Morehead, died Friday in St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

He was the husband of Margaret Glover Jennings.

Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is in charge of arrangements, which are pending.



Albert Wilburn

Albert Wilburn, 86, of Garrison, died Thursday.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson. Burial will be in Albert Wilburn Family Cemetery in Greenup County.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.



Emily Hilgenberg (1923-2008)

Emily L. Wagner Hilgenberg, 84, of Ironton, died Thursday.

She was born June 28, 1923, in Ironton.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton. Burial will be in Hanging Rock Cemetery.

Friends may call at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
