Jesse Ray White (1980-2008)
Jesse Ray White, 27, of Summit, Ky., died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in King’s Daughters Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 7, 1980, in Ashland, Ky., a son of Thomas L. and Teresa Barker White of Ashland.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Helen White.
He was of the Protestant faith and a lifetime member of the NRA and the North American Fishing Club.
Additional survivors include a brother, James William White and wife Marissa of Ashland; a sister, Sarah Lynn White and fiance Ryan Hankins of Ashland; nieces Angela White and Destiny Brown; maternal grandparents Clarence and Norma Barker of Ashland; and maternal great-grandmother Edna Kouns of Ashland.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Donnie McKenzie. Burial will be in Kouns Family Cemetery.

Barry Blackburn (1968-2008)
Barry Blackburn, 39, of Raceland, Ky., died April 24, 2008, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital ER.
He was born June 30, 1968, in Ashland, Ky., a son of Velma Sue Preston Blackburn of Grayson, Ky., and the late Lester Blackburn.
He was employed in golf course construction and was a self-employed musician. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and attended Bridges Christian Church in Russell, Ky.
Additional survivors include his wife, Pamela Davis Blackburn of Raceland; sons Maxxton Blackburn at home and Shane Blackburn of Ashland; a sister, Leslie (Steve) Herzog of Bellefonte, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Angela Jarvis (Ray) of Ashland; a niece, Brittany Herzog of Bowling Green, Ky.; a nephew, Kason Jarvis of Ashland; and grandparents Paul and Mary Preston of Grayson.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2008, at Bridges Christian Church in Russell by Mark McKinney. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.

Otto Evans (1929-2008)
Otto Evans, 78, of Wilson Creek in Grayson, Ky., died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born July 12, 1929, in Gravel Lick in Carter County, Ky., the son of the late James and Annie Adams Evans and Cora Shaffer Evans.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Lillian “Bobbie” Hollingsworth Evans and Elaine Griger Evans; his brothers, August, Johnny and Lovell Evans; and his sisters, Hazel Evans, Hager Bostick and Catherine Fryer.
Otto was a retired heavy-equipment mechanic who worked with local companies Rebel Coal, Ruth Equipment and Economy Barge.
Surviving Otto are his sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Bonnie Evans and Mike and Bobbie Evans of Baltimore, Md., and William Griger of Grayson. He is also survived by his sister, Della Marie Evans Ingels of Ashland, Ky.; brothers and sisters-in-law Clyde and Ramona Evans of Brunswick, Ga., and Paul and Geneviene Evans of Greenup, Ky.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson by Lawrence Felty, minister. Burial will be in Otto Evans Family Cemetery on Wilson Creek.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, April 25, and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Trula W. Flinders Brooks (1917-2008)
Trula W. Flinders Brooks, 90, of Vanceburg, Ky., died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in Golden Living Center.
Mrs. Brooks was born Oct. 24, 1917, at Quick Run, Ky., a daughter of the late Dean Alvin and Cordia Johnson Flinders.
Her husband of 60 years, Lorin Stout Brooks, died on Feb. 28, 2000. They were married on April 20, 1940.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers; seven sisters; and a grandson, Derrek Armstrong.
For many years, she and her husband, Lorin, owned and operated Brooks Appliance in Garrison, Ky. She was a member of South Shore Christian Church and a former member of the Black Oak Christian Church. She served as church secretary and treasurer, taught Sunday school, served as Bible school superintendent and sang in the church choir.
She was a former foster grandparent, a Kentucky colonel, an active member of the Lewis County Senior Citizens, had served as a Cub Scout den mother and was past president of the Garrison Parent-Teacher Association.
She was an avid reader and University of Kentucky basketball fan.
Surviving are a son, Richard Kent Brooks and wife Karen of Maysville, Ky.; four daughters, Lorna Kaye Sapp and husband Kenneth of Maysville, Marilyn Armstrong and husband Denver of South Shore, Ky., Carolyn Ruth and husband Bob of South Webster, Ohio, and Jane Flinders and husband Thomas of South Shore; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg by Bill Hayden, Kevin Cornette and Danny Bentley. Burial will be in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Tim Flinders, Kenny Sapp, Tracy Armstrong, Caleb Pass, Daniel Armstrong, Greg Pass, Thomas Crump and Allen Feldhaus Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kyler Sapp, Layton Crump and Cameron Armstrong.
Albert Wilburn
Albert Wilburn, 86, of Greenup County, died Thursday.

Deena Susan Holt Flannery, 40, of McDowell, died Wednesday at her residence.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home in Martin. Burial will be in Drift Cemetery.

Kim Johnson (1958-2008)
Kim Renee Johnson, 50, of Louisa, died Wednesday at her residence.
She was born April 21, 1958, in Ashland, Ohio.
Her husband, Wilson Johnson, survives.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Wilson Funeral Home in Louisa. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Louisa.

She was born Oct. 10, 1916, in Lewis County.
Her husband, Fred M. Lewis, died in 1993.

Ronald Gilbert Estep, 69, of Morehead, died Wednesday in St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

He was born Jan. 2, 1951.
His wife, Rosemary Lewis, survives.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Woodland Cemetery in Ironton, with military rites by Ironton VFW Post 8850.
There will be no visitation.
