Phyllis Ross (1935-2008)
Phyllis E. Ross, 72, of Ashland, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born Aug. 18, 1935, in Elmwood, Ohio, the daughter of the late Frank M. Cunningham and Evelyn E. Hoopes Morris. She was a member of Ashland First Church of the Nazarene.
She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Crum in 1960 and David Ross in 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Carla K. Ball of Catlettsburg; a granddaughter, Angela Ball of Elizabethtown, Pa.; two great-grandchildren, Halley Palmer and Cameron Romonofsky of Elizabethtown; two stepdaughters, Nancy Griffith of Ripley, Va., and Linda Ross of Florida; two stepsons, David Ross of Florida and Colin Ross of Ashland; and two aunts, Helen Gruber of Ceredo, W.Va., and Marjorie Nickles of Huntington, W.Va.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland by Dr. Steve Ruby. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Dorothy Bennett (1935-2008)
Dorothy Jean Leibee Bennett, 73, of Rich Patch, Va., died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at her home. She was the wife of Robert King Bennett, who survives.
Mrs. Bennett was born July 27, 1935, in Ashland, the daughter of the late Ethel Litteral and the late George Leibee. She was a member of Covington Baptist Church in Virginia.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Louise Bennett Davis of Mechanicsville, Va.; a son, Robert King Bennett II of Covington, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Beamer Bennett of Covington; a grandson, J.E. Bennett “Ben” Dickerson of Mechanicsville; and two granddaughters, Emily Louise Davis of Mechanicsville and Madison King Bennett of Covington.
Other surviving family are two sisters, Wanda Cantrell Haldoupis of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Mary Louise Leibee Johnson of Ashland; and a brother, Donald Ray Leibee of Ironton, Ohio.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, James Cecil Leibee of Ashland.
Pallbearers will be her nephew, Dana Page Johnson of Ashland, Guy Griffith, Jack Hicks, Pete Griffith and the Rev. Bill Ireland of Covington and Dale Stull, Faron Stull and Eddie Dudley of Rich Patch.
The family will receive friends drom 4 to 6 and from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Loving Funeral Home, North Maple Avenue, Covington, Va.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Covington Baptist Church.

Cecil White (1921-2008)
Cecil G. “Pete” White, 87, of Russell, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 18, 2008, in Boyd County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born March 21, 1921, in Raceland, a son of the late Edward and Mary Jane Adkins White. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he was a military police officer. He was a clerk at C&O Railroad for 42 years and a Sunday school superintendent for 30 years at Raceland Assembly of God.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Jerri Beth Horn; and a sister, Gwendolyn Clarke.
Survivors include his loving wife, Retta; a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Ronnie Boggs of Russell; a son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Greg and Nancy White of Carlonville, Ill.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Olive Reed of Raceland and Doris and Harold Bradley of Sharonville, Ohio; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Amie and Mike Keenan of Elkhard, Ind., Lynda Perry of Raceland, Cristen and Steve Thompson of Flatwoods, Bryan and Christi White of Effingham, Ill., Erin White of Minneapolis, Minn., Andrew White and Eric White, both of Waxahachie, Texas, and Kelly and husband Phillip Freeman of Chandler, Okla.; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland by the Rev. Troy Boggs. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.

Ralph Webb (1939-2008)
Ralph Eugene Webb, 68, of Webbville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday evening April 19, 2008, surrounded by his family.
Ralph was born June 21, 1939 at Webbville, Ky., the son of the late Morton Greenville “Doc” and Grace Mae Thompson Webb. He was a retired employee of National Mine Service Co., a devoted Christian and an avid bird watcher. He was a member of Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church and Rush Masonic Lodge 715, F&AM.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kitchen Webb, who died in 1993; a son, Tommy Webb; and three brothers, Morton Greenville Webb Jr., Charles Curtis Webb and George Webb.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Butler Webb; two sons, Timothy Eugene Webb of Charleston, W.Va., and Kenneth Allen Webb and financeé Jennifer Epperly of Ashland; a brother, Delmar Lee “Jimmy” Webb of Louisa; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Hepler and husband Michael and Jacob Andrew Webb; and two great-grandchildren, Luke and Olivia Hepler.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church by Pastor Keith Crum and Brother Roger Vanover. Burial will be in Kitchen Cemetery in Naples.
Brother Gary Sparks will conduct church services at 7 p.m. today at the church. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund.

Alice Fields
Alice Jones Fields, 86, of Huntington, daughter of the late Ruth and Gerald Jones of Ashland, Ky., died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at home.
Alice was preceded in death by her daughter Janet Zevnik, her son-in-law, Paul Pershing, and her husband, Howard R. Fields.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Carol Lynn and husband Esber Tweel of Charleston and Ruth Ann and husband Stephen Zoeller of Scott Depot; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at St. John’s Episcopal Church at 3000 Washington Blvd., Huntington, W.Va.

Eliene Carter Cox, 80, of Elliott County, died Sunday in Life Care Center of Morehead.
She was born Sept. 26, 1927.
Her husband, Columbus Cox, preceded her in death.

Frankie Keeton
Frankie Keeton, 58, of West Liberty, died Saturday in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
His wife, Carolyn McClung Keeton, survives.
