Peggy Ann Vaughan - 1929-2008
Peggy Ann Vaughan, age 78, of Ashland, Ky., died Sunday, March 30, 2008, in King’s Daughters Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 4, 1929, in Ashland, and was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Eva Mae Wheeler Vaughan.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Gene Vaughan.
She retired from Columbia Gas, and was formerly employed at Inland Gas, Ashland Oil and Wright-Patterson Field. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School of various ages. She loved to travel and enjoyed traveling with various groups over the years.
Surviving are her sister, Lee Royce Maddox and her husband, J. Edward of Ashland; nieces, Rhonda Vaughan of Point Pleasant, W.Va., and Carol Maddox Smith and her husband, Steve of Franklin, Ky.; and a nephew, Art Vaughan and wife, Dreama of Jacksonville, Fla.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Charles Stewart and Dr. Floyd Paris. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 tonight, April 1, 2008 at the funeral home.

Melvina Miller - 1964-2008
Melvina Maxine Dalton Miller of Ashland passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker.
Mrs. Miller was 44 years of age, born Jan. 12, 1964, in Ashland, Ky., the daughter of Lonnie E. Dalton of Ashland and the late Vina Sue Tomlin Dalton.
Along with her father, Melvina leaves behind her two precious daughters, Suzanne Louise Miller and Ashlee Pauline Miller, both at home; three special cousins, Regina Chaffins, Jeanette Johnson and Angie Smith. She was a graduate of Boyd County High School Class of 1982 and Ashland Community College, employed as a medical records transcriptionist at King’s Daughters Medical Center and a member of Westwood Christian Church.
Preceding her in death are her paternal grandparents, Clarence and Mildred Dalton; and her maternal grandparents, John and Melvina Porter Tomlin.
A funeral service in remembrance of Melvina Miller will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the Westwood Christian Church. Words of comfort will be offered by Pastor Dean Jackson. Final rest will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Those wishing to call on the Miller family may do so from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Neal Funeral Home on Center Street in Catlettsburg and from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Stephen Dale Morgan - 1934-2008
Stephen Dale Morgan, 73, of Rock Camp, died Saturday, March 29 at his home following a long illness.
He was born Oct. 13, 1934, in Kermit, W.Va., the son of the late Stephen and Edith Morgan.
He was a graduate of Dawson-Bryant Schools and Ashland Junior College. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a chemical analyst who retired from Aristech in 1998. He attended Rock Camp Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dawna Gayle Porter.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Lydia Margaret Morgan, nee McClelland; a son, Stephen D. Morgan II of New Orleans, La.; two sisters, Carol Sue Krivach of Johnstown, Pa., and Deidre Ann Myers of Wintersville; two brothers, Larry Joe Morgan of Zanesville and Robert Darrell Morgan of Swartz Creek, Mich.; two aunts, Patricia Morgan of Ironton and Rose Morgan of Rock Camp; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
Visitation will take place at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland tonight, April 1 from 6 to 9.
The family will hold a private service the next day. The sRev. James Kearns will officiate followed by burial at the Bayless Family Cemetery.

Elizabeth Frisby McClure
Elizabeth Frisby McClure, 88, of Richmond, a former resident of Ashland, Ky., and the widow of Robert T. McClure, died Sunday morning in Telford Terrace in Richmond.
Survivors include one daughter, Beth M. Jones (Larry) of Richmond; one brother, John Frisby of Key West, Fla.; two sisters, Alice McClure of Boulder, Colo., and Mary Cloran of Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren, Robert Neal “B.J.” McClure Jr. (Benedicte) of Florence, Erin Ackerman (Billy) of Richmond and Rob Jones (Kelly) of St. Louis, Mo.; four great-grandchildren, Leah and Elsa McClure and Hannah and Sophie Ackerman; one daughter-in-law, Mary Frances Queen of Owenton; a sister-in-law, Betty Monnett and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Neal McClure and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Jones.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2008 at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, 328 W. Main St., Richmond with the Rev. Robert Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Richmond Cemetery.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Margaret Hulett - 1926-2008
Margaret Jean Bennett Hulett stands in the presence of our Savior following her passing Sunday morning, March 30, 2008 in Hospice House of Huntington.
Mrs. Hulett was 81 years of age, born July 26, 1926, in rural Lawrence County, Ky., daughter of the late Cecil James and Goldie Marie Fannin Bennett. She was retired from the King’s Daughters Medical Center dietary department and a faithful member of Southside Church of the Nazarene. Margaret’s pleasant smile and soft-spoken voice will forever mark our memories, her tender heart and warm spirit will be her legacy.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 55 years, the Rev. Bennie G. Hulett. Their home together was blessed with two beautiful daughters, but sadly, Carol Hulett Perry passed away before her mother in 2000. Left behind now are Bennie and Margaret’s only daughter, Mrs. Joy Nutter and her husband, Jim of Ona, W.Va.; three wonderful grandchildren, Melissa Perry Mason and her husband, Dr. Trent Mason, Heather Rene Guerrieri and her husband, Joseph Guerrieri and Christopher Lee Nutter; and four precious great-grandchildren, Gena Guerrieri, Anna Guerrieri, Alexis Mason and baby Ashley Mason.
Also preceding her in death are two sisters, Jo Vanderpool and Joyce Whitt.
In remembrance of Mrs. Margaret Jean Hulett, a funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the Neal Funeral Home in Center Street in Catlettsburg. Brother Frank Hulett, nephew of Mrs. Hulett, will deliver a message of faith and hope and Pastor Jim Webster will deliver a heartfelt eulogy. Final rest will be beside her late husband in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Those wishing to pay tribute to the Hulett family may do so from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mary Fields - 1981-2008
Mary Fields, 26, of Ashland, died Saturday in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
She was born July 3, 1981, in Boyd County.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland. Burial will be in Winslow Cemetery.

Anita Lovejoy Hale, 55, of Ashland, died Saturday.
She was born March 3, 1953, in Ashland.

Imogene Fannin - 1921-2008
Imogene Nunley Fannin, 86, of Ashland, wife of the late Clinton Fannin, died March 28.
She was born Dec. 4, 1921.

Linda Everman, 49, of Grayson, died Monday as a result of an automobile accident.

Alvious Arms - 1923-2008
Alvious E. Arms, 84, of Huntington, W.Va., died Monday in Veterans Administration Medical Center in Huntington.
He was born May 23, 1923, in Johnson County.
His wife, Neva Arms, died in 1992.
