Jerry H. Eskridge (1932-2008)
Jerry H. Eskridge, 76, of Ashland, Ky., died Tuesday morning, March 25, 2008, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
Mr. Eskridge was born March 7, 1932, in Ashland, a son of the late Charles H. and Annie Belle Bergen Eskridge.
He retired from AK Steel after 33 years of service, was a Korean War Army veteran, a member of 13th Street Baptist Church, a 1950 graduate of Ashland High School and a graduate of Morehead State University.
Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years, Joan Brown Eskridge of Ashland; two daughters, Jill Turner and husband Joe D. and Jo Ellen Bowman and husband Jim, all of Ashland; and two grandchildren, Justin Turner and Jessica Fain. He is survived by a host of family and friends.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by Pastor Bill Parker. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.

Liddie Maggard (1938-2008)
Liddie Wright Maggard, 69, of Westwood, passed away Monday, March 24, 2008, following a sudden illness.
Liddie was born May 3, 1938, in Magoffin County, Ky., a daughter of Lucy Gamble Wright Bryant of Ashland and the late Wesley Wright.
Liddie was a former Avon representative.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Cornelius Franklin Maggard of Westwood; a daughter, Teresa Lynn Williams and her husband, Donald, of Catlettsburg; a brother Frederick E. Gussler, and his wife, Jeanie, of Ashland; two sisters Lillian Brown and her husband, George, of Ashland and Darlene Maynard of Ashland; two grandsons, Trevor Williams of Lexington and Jared Williams of Ashland; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood by Pastor Jack Salyers. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery in Westwood.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today, March 26, 2008, and an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.
Krista Lynn Lewis Adams (1973-2008)
Krista Lynn Lewis Adams, 34, of Millersville, Md., formerly of Fort Meade, Md., and Ashland, Ky., died March 23, 2008, in Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, Md., following a brief illness.
She was born May 4, 1973, in Ashland, a daughter of Daniel T. and Sharon K. Lewis of Queenstown, Md.
She was a 1991 graduate of Russell High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University in the early 1990s. She had been a resident of Millersville for four years and was employed at Sylvan Learning Center in Elkridge, Md. She was a licensed real estate agent for Long and Foster and a member of Severn Christian Church, where she sang with the praise team and helped with the Youth Band.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 15 years, Greg Adams; a son, Jonah D. Adams of Millersville; and her maternal grandmother, Betty Royster of Greenup, Ky.
The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2008, at Severn Christian Church in Severn, Md. Burial will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, Md.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008, at the church.
Stallings Funeral Home, P.A., in Pasadena, Md., is in charge of arrangements.

Jetta Kinnan
Jetta Kinnan, 57, of Catlettsburg, Ky., passed away on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was married to Don Kinnan and has two children, Donnie Kinnan and Krystal Kinnan. Her father was Elwood Gibbs and her mother is Betty Gibbs. Jetta has a twin sister, Jenny Gibbs; two other sisters, Kathy Gibbs and Myra Daniels Gibbs; and two brothers, Mark Gibbs and Rocky Gibbs.
Jetta was entombed inside Rose Hill Mausoleum and the service was conducted by Larry Frazier.
Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville, Ohio, was in charge of arrangements.
Ruth Manis (1942-2008)
Ruth Manis, 65, of Chesapeake, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 22, 2008, in Chesapeake Health Care Center in Chesapeake.
Mrs. Manis was born Sept. 2, 1942, in Greenup County, Ky., a daughter of the late Harry and Marie Caudill Kirk.
Surviving are her loving husband, Charles Manis; a son and his wife, Charles Edward and Laurie Manis of Chesapeake; two stepdaughters, Linda McDougle of Cleveland, Ohio, and Cathy Ewing of Houston, Texas; four sisters, Linda Duncan and Jo Ann Willis, both of Flatwoods, Ky., Nancy Frasure of Wurtland, Ky., and Wanda Jackson of Ashland, Ky.; a stepbrother, James Webb of Argillite, Ky.; three grandchildren, Christopher, Michael and Matthew Manis; and five stepgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today, March 26, 2008, at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland, Ky., by the Rev. Jim Pridemore. Burial will be in Rude Cemetery in Raceland, Ky.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Joe Marcum (1943-2008)
Joe Y. Marcum, 64, of Westwood, husband of Jean Griffitts Marcum, died Sunday in King’s Daughters Medical Center.
The funeral will be at noon today at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery in Westwood.

Richard Willis
Richard Willis, 36, of Russell, died Monday in the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.

Lettie Williams (1915-2008)
Lettie Ellen Ingle Williams, 92, of Morehead, died March 19 in the Life Care Center in Morehead.
She was born April 21, 1915.
Her husband, Leonard Williams, preceded her in death.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Burial will be in Eldridge Cemetery in Morehead.

Judy Mickelson (1957-2008)
Judy Perkins Mickelson, 50, of Lexington, formerly of Malone, died Monday.
She was born April 24, 1957, in Valencia, Venezuela.
Her husband, Larry Mickelson, survives.

James Rickey Jr. (1920-2008)
James H. Rickey Jr., 87, of Lake Barrington, Ill., died Sunday at his residence.
He was born April 28, 1920, in Portsmouth.
His wife, Betty B. Bowman Rickey, survives.
The funeral will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter United Church of Christ in Lake Zurich, Ill. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Woodland Cemetery in Ironton.

Andrew Derifield (1948-2008)
Andrew Martin Derifield, 59, of Franklin Furnace, died Monday at his residence.
He was born Dec. 19, 1948, in Whitehead, Va.
His wife, Olive Diane Otworth Derifield, survives.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Plymouth Heights Nazarene Church in Franklin Furnace. Burial will be in Junior Furnace Cemetery.
