Bert Wilson Jr. (1934-2008)
Bert Wilson Jr., age 73, of Ashland, Ky., passed away Saturday, March 8, 2008 in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born Sept. 18, 1934, in Vinton, Ohio, the son of the late Bert Wilson Sr. and Mary Lemaster Wilson.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, and a retired mechanic and construction worker. He was an avid woodsman, loved hunting and a member of the Ashland Seventh Day Adventist Church.
In addition to his parents, Bert was preceded in death by one brother, Fredrick Wilson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Bentley Wilson of Ashland; three sons, Robert Wilson of South Point, Ohio, Keith Wilson of Ashland and John Church of Ashland; two daughters, Lisa Artrip of Ashland and Sandy Artrip of Kitts Hill, Ohio; one sister, Mary Jane Hern of Greenup; and 13 grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Wilson will be Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill officiated by Pastor John Baker and John Stapleton.
Visitation is from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Bentley Cemetery.

Leona Mae Tufts (1910-2008)
Leona went to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 8, 2008, in Jackson Medical Care Facility, 524 Lansing Ave., Jackson, Mich.
She was born Oct. 13, 1910, in Rush, Ky., a daughter of the late William O. Tufts and America (Deerfield) Tufts.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Tufts and Raymond Tufts.
Leona gave her heart to the Lord on Oct. 17, 1931 and was baptized by the Rev. Thomas Alexander and Fred Clara. She was a member of Kilgore United Methodist Church where she previously directed the choir, was a soloist, served as a board member, Sunday School teacher, and delegate to church camp and served as parents caregiver.
Surviving are special friends including all of Leona’s church family, Joyce Thomas (a special friend and caregiver), Pearl Woods with special love to family and many loving friends and neighbors; nieces and nephews, George and Kaye Westcott of Indiana, Mike and Pam Pennington of Tennessee, Gary and Teresa Schultz of Michigan, Patricia Wilson of Michigan, Thomas and Kathy Rimmer of Pennsylvania, Donald and Karen Tufts of Ohio, Bill and Gail Burke of Tennessee, Jim and Brenda Fox of West Virginia, Rick and Carolyn Miller of Kentucky, and James and Joan Mangus of West Virginia; many great-nieces and nephews; and one sister, Eloise Pennington of Jackson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, at Kilgore United Methodist Church, 14630 Ky. 854, Rush and conducted by the pastor of the church, the Rev. Fred Wiles. Internment will immediately follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Lazear Funeral Home, 1632 Central Ave., Ashland, Ky., and at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vaughn Thomas missions at Kilgore United Methodist Church in Rush.
Pallbearers will be George Westcott, Gary Schultz, Tommy Jo Lucus, Donald Tufts, Richard Westcott and Robert Westcott.

Trina Mullins (1953-2008)
Trina Dawn Bays Mullins, 54, peacefully left this earth to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at her residence in Raceland, Ky.
Mrs. Mullins was born April 19, 1953, in Ironton, Ohio, a daughter of Rosemary Bonzo Bays of Raceland and the late Glenn Bays.
She was retired from Calgon Carbon Corp. with 31 years of service, was a member of the Greenup First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the vocal and bell choir, was a graduate of Morehead State University with a bachelor’s degree in science, and was a homemaker and loving mother.
She is survived along with her mother by her husband of 34 years, Howard Mullins of Raceland; a son, Matthew Trent Mullins of Indianapolis; two daughters, Caitlin Rose Mullins of Lexington, Ky., and Alana Dawn Mullins of Raceland; and a sister, Stephanie Hansen and her husband, Tom of Indianapolis.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Greenup First United Methodist Church by Dr. Deron Newman. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland, Ky.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. tonight, March 11, 2008 and one hour before the service Wednesday at the church.

Benjamin “Ben” Mullins (1936-2008)
Benjamin “Ben” Mullins, 72, of Rush, died Saturday in King’s Daughters Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 28, 1936, a son of the late Frank and Goldie Littleton Mullins.
He was a retired truck driver.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Mullins and his wife, Geneva of Ironton, Ohio; and two sisters, Elizabeth Mullins of Shepherdsville, Ky., and Hattie Mullins of Rush.
His survivors include his wife of 37 years, Naomi Jean (May) Mullins; one niece, Yvonne Johnston of Dardanelle, Ark. (whom he raised as his own); one stepdaughter, Sharon Crager of Ironton, Ohio; three grandchildren, Kelly Preston of Ironton, and Jeremy and Jennifer Johnston, both of Dardanelle; five great-grandchildren, Anna and Nathaniel Preston, both of Ironton, and Nicholas, Clayton and Chase Johnston of Dardanelle; and a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
Visitation for friends will be Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home by Mickey King, minister. Burial will be in Mullins Family Cemetery in Rush.

William R. “Willie” Flannery (1940-2008)
William R. “Willie” Flannery, 68, of Olive Hill, Ky., passed away at his home on Monday, March 10, 2008.
He was born Feb. 21, 1940, in Carter County, the son of the late James and Lona Seagraves Flannery.
Willie was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 138 in Olive Hill and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers, Leroy Flannery, Ray Flannery, Matt Flannery, Jack Flannery, Curt Flannery, Tom Flannery, Phillip Flannery and John Flannery.
He is survived by one brother, Charles Flannery of Ashland, Ky.; one sister, Lois Flannery Brown of Flatwoods, Ky.; and several special nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Flannery will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008 with services starting at 7 p.m. at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill. Officiating will be Mike Blankenship. Burial will follow at a later date at Flannery Cemetery.

Lou Ann Hinkle (1962-2008)
Lou Ann Hinkle, 45, died Monday in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born Sept. 16, 1962.
Her husband, Jack Hinkle, survives.

Dustin Debord (1984-2008)
Dustin Bradley Debord, 24, of Flatwoods, died Sunday in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.

James Stinson (1922-2008)
James Edward Poss Stinson, 85, of Morehead, died Sunday in St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
He was born April 21, 1922.
His wife, Dexter Crosthwaite Stinson, survives.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. today at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with military rites.
There is no visitation.

Dorothy Millem (1923-2008)
Dorothy Louise Herson Millem, 84, of Morehead, died March 6 at her residence.
She was born July 27, 1923.
Her husband, Donald Leo Millem, preceded her in death.

Charles Hudson (1916-2008)
Charles Garland Hudson, 91, of McConnell, W.Va., died Saturday in Prestonsburg.
He was born Oct. 29, 1916, in Rural Retreat, Va.
His wife, Virginia D. Hudson, preceded him in death.

He was born Sept. 12, 1916, in Cliff.

Janice Flint, 71, of Salyersville, died March 7.

Virgie Stephens (1946-2008)
Virgie Lyons Stephens, 62, of Elliott County, died March 7 in St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
She was born Feb. 13, 1946, in Elliott County.

Eunice Howard
Eunice B. Blevins Howard, 58, of Portsmouth, died Saturday at her residence.
She was born in York, Ky.
Her husband, Robert Riley, survives.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Mack Stafford (1930-2008)
Mack P. Stafford, 77, of Ironton, formerly of Ashland, Ky., died Sunday in Catlettsburg, Ky.
He was born Nov. 18, 1930, in Portsmouth.
His wife, Ruth Jeanette Riffe Stafford, survives.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Tracy Brammer Funeral Home in Ironton. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery with military rites by VFW Post 8850 of Ironton.

Edna Bowman (1912-2008)
Edna M. Bowman, 95, of Ironton, died Saturday in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
She was born May 29, 1912.
Her husband, Walter Bowman, preceded her in death.
A graveside service will be at noon Wednesday at Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home in Ironton.
