— Louis McLaughlin - 1942-2008
Louis C. McLaughlin, 65, of Flatwoods died Saturday in Ashland. He was born Sept. 4, 1942, in Ashland, the son of the late William Everett and Lucille E. Meade McLaughlin. He was the husband of Janet Lou Riggle McLaughlin, who survives.
He was a machinist for C&O/CSX Railroad and attended the Wurtland Missionary Baptist Church. He served in the National Guards, and he was a member of the Smith Lodge 775 F&AM, Local 249 IA of M&AW.
He also was preceded in death by one brother, Willie Everett McLaughlin.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons and daughters-in-law, L. Collin and Rebecca McLaughlin II of Flatwoods and Bennie and Amy Dickison of Ashland; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherri Lynn and Don Griffith of Flatwoods; three brothers, Harry McLaughlin of Victoria, Va., Clyde McLaughlin of Charlottesville, Va., and Phillip McLaughlin of Lexington; two sisters, Elsie Heslip of Charlottesville and Naomi Funkhouser of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, Khristian Rice, Louis C. McLaughlin III, Casey W. McLaughlin and Kaylee J. Dickison; and one great-grandchild, Blake Rice.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Trina Dawn Mullins, 54, of Raceland died Sunday at her home.

Benjamin “Ben” Mullins, 72, of Rush died Saturday at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Bert Wilson Jr.
Bert Wilson Jr., 73, of Olive Hill died Saturday at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Richard Flannigan - 1951-2008
Richard D. “Dicky” Flannigan, 56, of Vanceburg died Friday at his home.
He was born Nov. 4, 1951, in Lewis County.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Gaydos Funeral Home in Vanceburg. Burial will be in Black Oak Cemetery in Black Oak.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 8 a.m. until the time of the services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Jesse Ball - 1936-2008
Jesse Ball of Louisa died Friday at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born May 11, 1936, in Logan, W.Va.
His wife, Beatrice Ball, preceded him in death.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chestnut Grove Enterprise Baptist Church. Burial will be in Ball Family Cemetery in Louisa.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Clifford Crawford - 1941-2008
Clifford Merle Crawford, 67, of Garrison died Saturday at his home.
He was born March 1, 1941, in Indian Creek.
His wife, Mary Ann Toller Crawford, survives.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery in Quincy, Ky.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. to the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Adam Whitaker
Adam James Whitaker, 52, of Salyersville died Friday.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Magoffin County Funeral Home in Salyersville.

She was born July 8, 1947.
Her husband, Roy Adkins, preceded her in death.
