Parade Classroom has partnered with The Independent to offer a host of materials to help support the newspaper's NIE program.
All materials can be downloadable from www.paradeclassroom.com.
However, the materials require a user name and password.

Here are some new materials you will find at www.paradeclassroom.com for the 2006-2007 school year:
Weekly Teacher’s Guides that provide teachers with a wealth of activities, including lesson plans, skill sheets, and other features (updated every Friday).
Teen Newsbreak helps teachers connect students with The Independent and the world by making current events relevant through debates, news quizzes and "hot news tips," written in their language (updated every Thursday).
All existing tabs will be updated as necessary for the 2006-07 school year, including Election Extra, which has been updated for state and Congressional midterm elections.
In addition to the above mentioned materials, there will be new in-paper series.
They are:
The First Amendment and You: adapted from Parade Classroom's popular supplement, " You Have the Rights." These two in-paper features help students understand how the struggle over the First Amendment unfolds in their newspaper every day. This material can be used in conjunction with Constitution Day (Sept. 17), Bill of Rights Day (Dec. 15) and Newspapers in Education Week in March.
"Save the Planet," is adapted from the popular "Save the Planet" supplement, a four-part series providing the resources and inspiration students need to take action on behalf of the Earth. It can be used in conjunction with Earth Day in April.
