NFL suspends QB Michael Vick indefinitely The NFL indefinitely suspended Michael Vick without pay Friday just hours after he acknowledged in court papers that he did, indeed, bankroll gambling on dogfighting and helped kill some dogs not worthy of the pit.
What is Newspapers in Education (NIE)? Our newspaper not only serves as a "news" product, but also is an educational tool. It is the most up-to-date media available in print. It deals with issues from the "real world." Newspapers provide something for every student, increasing motivation, reading skills and test scores. The Independent offers a fresh look at events happening in our community today, as well as world events, from a perspective that makes it easy for children to understand. No textbook can do this as well — or as affordably.
More materials from paradeclassroom.com Parade Classroom has partnered with The Independent to offer a host of materials to help support the newspaper's NIE program. All existing tabs will be updated as necessary for the 2006-07 school year, including Election Extra, which has been updated for state and Congressional midterm elections. In addition to the above mentioned materials, there will be new in-paper series.
