RUSSELL A high-speed pursuit involving a stolen vehicle ended in Boyd County on Thursday.
Allen T. Lewis, 31, of Grassy Creek, was driving the vehicle that was also occupied by Chassidy J. Emerson, 36, of Cannel City.
According to a release from the Russell Police Department, the department observed a silver Pontiac Bonneville driving erratically at approximately 10:37 p.m. Upon running the tag, the car came back as a stolen vehicle.
When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it accelerated and was pursed into Boyd County where it lost control and crashed. Both Lewis and Emerson were treated and released at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital and were lodged at the Greenup County Detention Center.
Lewis is charged with first degree fleeing or evading police, a first offense DUI, operating on a suspended license, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and wanton endangerment of a police officer, first-degree possession of both meth and opiates, possession of drug paraphernalia and receiving stolen property along with a warrant served from Morgan County.
Emerson was charged with first-degree possession of meth.
