RACELAND — Raceland’s volleyball team has notched its second 12-game winning streak this season.

The Lady Rams made it a dozen straight with a 3-0 victory over Lewis County, winning 25-19, 25-14 and 25-23.

Seniors Abby Brogan and Makenzi Speaks fittingly starred on Senior Night for Raceland. Brogan tallied 11 kills and Speaks had 10. Speaks also came up with four blocks.

“It was awesome to see Abby and Makenzi go out that way,” said Raceland coach Jason Clark. “They’ve meant so much to our program over the years.”

Kymbria Williams racked up a team-best 18 kills.

Raceland (26-4) already owned the No. 1 seed in the upcoming 63rd District tournament. Lewis County’s seed is yet to be determined, but the Greenup County-Russell outcome tonight will help sort things out.

Raceland used a solid serving night to help preserve a perfect record in district play. Savannah Mackie served throughout Raceland’s 8-0 surge to begin the second game.

The third game went down to the wire, as a Williams ace sealed the Lady Rams’ win.
