MOREHEAD Rowan County defeated Greenup County by one run despite giving up the go-ahead runs in the seventh inning.

Because the game was called off by inclement weather, Greenup County’s three seventh-inning runs didn’t count since the inning wasn’t finished. KHSAA rules state that non-district games shortened by bad weather are determined by the score after both halves of an inning are played. Therefore, the game went final at 4-3 because that was the score after six innings.

Fairview 2

ASHLAND Seth Boyle doubled, tripled and drove in two runs while teammate Zach Hutchinson settled in to deliver six innings of two-run baseball as Greenup County had little trouble with Fairview on Monday at Central Park.

The Musketeers busted out six runs in the sixth inning to put a capper on a 10-run win and end the game an inning early.

Jesse Hall and Hutchinso recorded two RBIs apiece. For Fairview, Blake Smith and Taylor Freeman each contributed an RBI.

Each team racked up nine hits. Fairview had six errors.

Fairview (3-9) goes to Ashland tonight at 6.
