RACELAND — Raceland's football team defeated Pikeville, 14-3, on Friday night at Rams Stadium for the program's first-ever regional championship.
Pikeville led 3-0 after an LJ Allara field goal in the second quarter.
Raceland's Kane Snyder punched in the Rams' first score with 6:03 left in the third quarter. The TD was followed by a Daylin Beach two-point conversion.
Connor Messer connected with Rodney Vance for a 13-yard TD pass in the fourth quarter.
Raceland tallied 211 rushing yards, led by Beach's 126. Pikeville had 213 on the ground.
The Rams (11-2) held Pikeville (11-2) to its lowest point total of the season. Previously, the Panthers hadn't been limited to fewer than 20 in a game.
Raceland travels to Williamsburg in the state semifinal round next Friday.
