A Big Blue heart

Kentucky’s Mays travels to Louisa

LOUISA — Kentucky basketball player, Julius Mays, made an appearance at Chickabiddy Frozen Yogurt of Louisa on Thursday evening.

Mays’ visit to the frozen yogurt shop was in conjunction with a fundraiser benfiting the  Lawrence County Relay for Life, a foundation that raises money for cancer research.

Those who wanted to donate had the option of either buying a charity cup of yogurt, where 20 percent of their purchase went to Relay For Life, or they could donate directly to the cause.

Mays met with fans, signed autographs, took pictures and even grabbed a cup of frozen yogurt. He said it was a great opportunity to draw a crowd for the cause.

“I’m glad I could come here,” Mays said. “A lot of people are looking for ways to bring attention to great causes like this and I’m glad I can help.”

Mays is on a signing tour through the state. On Wednesday he made a stop at the Kentucky Children’s Hospital.
