Boyd romps; Lady Raiders get 16th win

SUMMIT — Four Boyd County players scored in double figures Monday night as the Lions beat visiting Bath County 77-44.

Grayson Griffith scored 18 points, Conner Gauze 15, Clayton Meade 13 and Tristan Burgess 11 for Boyd County (9-7).

The Lions led 33-25 at halftime and scored 30 points in the third quarter to pull away.

GRAYSON East Carter, ranked ninth in the latest Associated Press state poll, rolled past Elliott County.

The Lady Raiders allowed only two points in the first quarter and led 37-9 at halftime.

Freshman Haley Hall led the offense wth 14 point as East Carter ran its record to 16-1.

The Lady Raiders play at Fleming County on Thursday.

Elliott County slipped to 3-9.
