ASHLAND — Junior midfielder Megan Stickler finished with a hat trick, including the tie-breaking goal in the second half to lead East Carter’s girls soccer team past Ashland 4-2 on Thursday night.

East Carter moved to 12-2-1 with its sixth consecutive win. The Lady Raiders were coming off shutouts over Greenup County, Bath County, Johnson Central, Elliott County and West Carter.

Stickler broke a 2-2 tie with her third goal in the 64th minute. Teammate Macy Dyer added an insurance goal three minutes later at Ashland Soccer Complex.

Aidan Young provided Ashland (5-9-1) with leads of 1-0 and 2-1 in the first half, but Stickler answered each time.

Young connected on an early penalty kick and later scored off an Emily Bond assist.

East Carter goalkeeper Starr Caldwell made 12 saves, while Ashland’s Jamie Downey finished with 11.
