Greenup’s Dillon sets mark with eight treys

LLOYD — Senior guard Robbie Dillon broke a school record that had stood for two decades with eight 3-pointers in a game as the Musketeers used an 18-4 second-quarter run to break a 15-15 tie en route to a 75-44 win.

The Musketeers added an 8-0 surge midway through the third quarter to push their lead to 19 points.

Greenup County (10-14) recognized six Musketeers on Senior Day as all six scored at least one basket. Dillon tallied six of his treys in the second half and led the team with 24 points.

Jordan Mann topped Menifee County with 13 points, while Thomas Chaney added 12 and 12 rebounds.

LLOYD Visiting Johnson Central used a 19-7 third-quarter advantage to pull away from Greenup County to defeat the Lady Musketeers 58-51 on the home team’s Senior Day.

Greenup County led for most of the second quarter before the Lady Eagles outscored the Lady Musketeers 10-2 over the final 3:05 of the first half.

Greenup County (10-18) closed within three points after Micah Leslie’s third 3-pointer of the day with 26.4 seconds to play.

But, the Lady Eagles (17-11) sealed the victory by connecting on all four of their free-throw attempts over the final 16 seconds. Johnson Central claimed its fourth road victory in five outings to end the regular season.
