Hensley 1-hits Central in 5-1 win for Kittens

PAINTSVILLE — Ashland junior Megan Hensley recorded a career-best 18 strikeouts and gave up just one hit as the Kittens beat Johnson Central, 5-1, on Thursday night.

Hensley also went yard, parking a two-run home run over the fence in the first inning.

McKenzie Vanover smacked a solo shot in the fifth.

Johnson Central’s only hit was a solo home run off the bat of Lauren Delong.

Hensley walked five Lady Eagles.

Ashland (18-2) hosts East Carter today at 5:30 p.m.

Johnson Central (14-7) is at Greenup County on Monday at 6 p.m.
