RACELAND — The first of 12 games in three days tips off at 2:30 p.m. today at Anderson Gym as the 59th annual Ashland Invitational Tournament gets under way.

At 5-2 with a few impressive wins already, Ashland heads into its tournament on a high note. The Tomcats defeated Taft (Cincinnati), 67-63, last Sunday at Ironton. They already own a lopsided victory over Lewis County, their opponent today at 7 p.m.

Johnson Central and Simon Kenton tip it all off, with Fleming County-Roger Bacon concluding the afternoon session of the opening round.

Ashland-Lewis County and Ironton-Grant County comprise the evening session.

Two consolation games precede the semifinals on Saturday, with three consolation contests and the championship slated for Sunday. The finals are set for 7:30 p.m.
