The Raceland volleyball team continued its momentous season by winning the Ashland Invitational on Saturday.
Raceland picked up wins over Boyd County (25-6, 25-20), Fairview(25-8, 25-18) and against Ashland (28-26, 25-21) in the championship match.
The win against the VolleyCats is the second win in three days for Raceland.
On Saturday, the Lady Rams found themselves trailing Ashland 18-8 in the first game, before rallying to win.
In the second game, Raceland trailed 21-16, before scoring nine straight points to clinch the tournament.
Kymbria Williams had nine kills, Abby Brogan had seven and Makenzi Speaks had four.
But it was Savannah Mackie who won the tournament, getting her first kill on the game-winner.
It’s the fourth tournament win for the Lady Rams after picking up victories in the South Point Invitational, the 16th Region All ‘A’ Tournament and the Citizens Bank Volleyball Throwdown.
With the wins, Raceland improves its record to 30-4, a school record. The Lady Rams are off a week before beginning postseason play in the 63rd district tournament at Russell.
