Jachimczuk paves way for Lady Devils

LOUISA — Freshman Maggie Jachimczuk’s double-double paced Russell’s girls basketball team to a 60-43 win at Lawrence County on Wednesday night.

Jachimczuk supplied 20 points and 12 rebounds as the Lady Devils pushed their record to 11-3 for the season.

Hannah Carter made three of Russell’s six 3-pointers and finished with 11 points.

The Lady Devils outscored Lawrence County 33-18 in the second half to pull away.

Shelby Hay led the Lady Bulldogs (4-9) with 14 points.

GRAYSON East Carter scored 28 points in the third quarter and went on to win for the 14th time in 15 games this season.

Bryana Greenhill scored 14 points, Haley Hall 13, Kristen Mayo 12 and Kelsey Stumbo 11 for the Lady Raiders. Stumbo also grabbed eight rebounds, while Greenhill and Mayo combined for five of the team’s seven 3-pointers.

For Greenup County (6-6), Michal Leslie scored 13 points and Sydney Webb 10.
