Elliott County routed visiting Menifee County 13-3 in five innings Wednesday night to pick up its second win of the season.
Tyler Maynard fanned nine batters and scattered three hits, pitching the complete game. The senior was also 3-for-3 from the plate and drove in four runs off a pair of doubles. Corey Wright was 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
The Lions improved to 2-11 on the season. They’ll travel to West Carter today for a 5:30 contest to decide the 62nd District’s third seed.
Menifee County fell to 2-9 on the year.

GRAYSON East Carter blanked Morgan County Wednesday night and secured the top seed in the 62nd District.
Ryan Sagraves pitched five innings for the win, fanning eight batters and giving up two hits. Eddie Seagraves was 3-for-3 from the plate with two RBIs to lead the Raiders’ offense. Derek Stapleton was 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs.
The Raiders improved to 19-6 overall and 5-0 in the district. They’ll host Rowan County Friday evening.
