Louisa man faces multiple charges

LOUISA —

A Lawrence County man has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old female and photographing her, according to the Kentucky State Police.

The KSP began an investigation on June 7 after receiving a call reporting Harold K. Shannon of Louisa was in possession of explicit sexual images of a 14-year-old

It was determined Shannon had engaged in oral sex with the juvenile.  He was also in possession of several images depicting sexual performance involving the juvenile.

On Thursday warrants were issued and Shannon, 66, was arrested and lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center.

He has been charged with:

-Five counts of use of a minor (under 16) in sex performance.

-Five counts of unlawful transaction with a minor first degree, illegal sex acts with a victim under 16.

-One count promoting a minor under 16 in sex performance

-One count possess/view matter portraying sexual performance by minor.
