Literary fashion in spotlight Feb. 9 with library's event

For The Independent

ASHLAND — In honor of Fashion Week, Boyd County Public Library is seeking fashions and accessories inspired by books or libraries.

The Style from the Stacks fashion show will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 9 at the main branch, 1740 Central Ave. Those wishing to participate should fill out an entry form, available at any branch or online at thebookplace.org, or email name, contact information and a brief description of the entry to aclark@thebookplace.org. Entries are requested by Feb. 4.

“Use your imagination to create an item of clothing, footwear, jewelry or entire outfit from books, papers, magazines, CDs, or any material you would find in a library. Or, you can put together an ensemble inspired by your favorite book,”  Amanda Clark, adult programming supervisor at BCPL, said. “It doesn’t have to be complicated — just use your imagination. All ages are welcome to participate.”

With the owner’s permission, submissions will be displayed at the Highlands Museum & Discovery Center on Winchester Avenue.

For more information, call Clark at (606) 329-0518, ext. 1140.
