Burglaries, thefts reported to APD

ASHLAND — The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:

Burglary

‰A woman living in the 800 block of East Street on Wednesday reported someone broke into her home and stole rings, medications and coins.

‰A woman on Thursday reported someone broke into her residence in the 2200 block of Winchester Avenue and stole her state-issued cellphone and various groceries, all valued at $65.

‰A woman living in the 2200 block of Winchester Avenue on Wednesday reported someone had broken into her residence and removed various unspecified items.

Theft

‰A man on Thursday reported his Apple iPhone, valued at $400, was stolen while he was staying at the Salvation Army emergency shelter, 2212 Carter Ave.

‰A woman on Wednesday reported she left her purse in the King’s Daughters Medical Center cafeteria by mistake, and, when she went to retrieve it, it was gone.

‰A man on Thursday reported power tools, batteries and an extension cord, all valued at $1,412, were stolen from his truck while it was parked at Ruby Tuesday, 399 Armco Road.

‰A man on Wednesday reported a .38-caliber revolver was stolen from his vehicle while it was at one of three local garages.

Drugs

‰A 27-year-old woman arrested Thursday at Gla-Lo Apartment on outstanding warrants was charged with second- and third-degree drug possession after she was found to be in possession of hydrocodone and Xanax.

Assault

‰A 27-year-old woman was arrested on a misdemeanor assault charge Friday after she allegedly struck her live-in boyfriend in the eye during a domestic altercation in the 4000 block of Gartrell Street.

Shoplifting

‰Two women, one 22 and from Portsmouth and the other 19 and from Portsmouth, were arrested Wednesday at Walmart for allegedly trying to steal merchandise valued at $431.68.

‰A 46-year-old Ashland woman was arrested Wednesday at Walmart for allegedly trying to steal merchandise valued at $17.23.
