KSP finds meth lab in Greenup

GREENUP — Kentucky State Police arrested two in connection with the finding an active methamphetamine lab in Greenup County on Friday.

Daniel Collins and Allison Bayes, whose ages and addresses weren’t immediately available, were lodged in the Greenup County Detention Center, each charged with first-degree manufacturing methamphetamine, according to a news release from the Ashland KSP post.

An anonymous tip from a “concerned citizen” led to the discovery of the lab on Tackett Cemetery Road, the KSP said.

In addition to the lab itself, Trooper First Class Anthony Burch, the responding officer, found various ingredients used in meth production, the KSP said.

KSP Drug Enforcement Special Investigations East responded to the scene for hazardous materials clean-up. The KSP also was assisted at the scene by the Greenup Police Department and Greenup County sheriff’s deputies.

The investigation is continuing, the KSP said.
