Holiday grief seminar offered
ASHLAND - Community Hospice will offer a holiday, community-based grief program called “Coping with the Holidays” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Community Hospice offices at 1480 Carter Ave.
The seminar is for anyone who has suffered a loss and is facing the holidays without the loved one.
The seminar will be presented by Community Hospice’s professionally trained bereavement counselors. Participants will receive guidance about coping with loss during the upcoming holiday seasons, understanding the grieving process and learning how to enjoy the holidays while still honoring the loved ones.

Denominational leader to visit
ASHLAND - First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 1930 Winchester Ave., will host the Rev. Dr. Todd Adams, the associate general minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada, at 10:45 a.m. Sunday.
Adams’ primary responsibilities are in supporting the stewardship ministry of congregations throughout the denomination.
He was recently interviewed by Faith & Leadership, a forum for leadership education at Duke Divinity School. In the interview, he talks about the challenge of funding the work and ministry of congregations in North America.
First Christian in Ashland has been ranked as a top 100 congregation in the denomination because of its support of missions beyond the congregation and in overall practice of ministry.

Church to sponsor trunk or treat
ASHLAND - Trunk or treat will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at Wildwood Baptist Church at 3414 Charles St. Featured will be games and free hot dogs, chips and candy. In the event of rain, activities will be moved inside.
