Local celebrities who are light on their feet will come together this month to benefit a local health-care organization.
The fifth annual Dancing with the Tri-State Stars will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at Big Sandy Superstore Arena. The event will benefit Ebenezer Medical Outreach.
Actress Mitzi Sinnott will dance with Kipp Colvin.
Sinnott was born in Huntington and grew up in Flatwoods and Ironton.
“It’s exciting for me to use my art form to help raise awareness and money for such a great community health center. If folks can’t make the show, they can still support Ebenezer by voting on line for their favorite couple,” she said, referring to the People’s Choice award, a new angle on the event. One of the dancing couples will win People’s Choice according to online voting. Visit emohealth.org before Oct. 25 to vote.
Colvin, an Ironton native, is director of student activities at Stevenson University in Maryland.
They will perform a contemporary dance to “Where the Wind Blows” from the soundtrack of “The Great Gatsby.” Their choreography is by Katelyn Withrow of Flatwoods and costume design is by Johnny Allan Smith of Grayson.
Other couples in the event are:
Eric Anderson/Jill Meadows, Chris Lane/Rachel Stefursky, Sarah Holbrook White/ Shaun Terry, Brenda Bunn/Alex Smith, Amy and David Coughenour, Gary Myers/Doris Horst, Anthony Dooley/Lisa Hernandez, Elizabeth and Michael Estep, Christopher Collins/Brittany McDonald, Dr. Moe Carlton/Mendi Starcher and Jennifer Seay/Nathan Hall.
Ebenezer Medical Outreach provides access to free, comprehensive health care, preventative care and pharmaceuticals to the Fairfield West community of Huntington and the surrounding areas.
