ASHLAND — Same-day health schedules offered

ASHLAND - The Ashland-Boyd County Health Department will begin same-day scheduling services on Monday. The change is for all services except the WIC program. Same day means clients will no longer have to make clinic appointments in advance, but can call or walk in at 8 a.m. and get an appointment that day.

Same-day appointments will be taken until the schedule is full for the day. This will make it easier and more convenient for patients to receive services such as family planning, immunizations and cancer screening exams.

Patients are encouraged to call or come in as soon as possible on the day they wish to be seen because appointments will fill quickly.

If a patient needs a follow-up visit, he or she will be given a reminder card with an approximate date to call for another “same-day” appointment.

For more information, visit abchealthdepartment.com or call (606) 324-7181.

Blood drive set at fire station

ASHLAND - The Northeast Kentucky Chapter of the American Red Cross will have a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday to kick off American Red Cross Month.

The drive will be at the Central Fire Station at 1021 Carter Ave.
