West Liberty man killed in accident
A West Liberty man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Ky. 191 near Barker Branch Saturday, according to the Kentucky State Police.
Joshua Branham, 24, of West Liberty was pronounced dead at the scene around 7:25 p.m.
Branham apparently lost control of the motorcycle, left the eastbound shoulder of the roadway, crossed a creek and struck an embankment.
Morgan County Coroner Raymond Vancleave pronounced him dead.
Morgan County Sheriff’s Department, Morgan County EMS and West Liberty Fire/Rescue and KSP responded to the scene.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the accident, the KSP said.
2 injured in Ky. 174 wreck
A single-vehicle accident on Saturday on Ky. 174 left two injured, according to the Kentucky State Police.
Miranda D. Holbrook, 20, of Olive Hill was traveling east on Ky. 174 when she crossed the centerline, overcorrected and then struck a utility pole in a field after leaving the roadway on the eastbound shoulder.
A juvenile passenger in the car was airlifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital. Holbrook was transported to St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead and later transferred to Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was in stable condition.
Rowan County EMS, Rowan County Fire Department, Morehead Police and the KSP responded.
