Burglary at Shamrock Liquors reported to APD

ASHLAND — The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports: 

Burglary

Ashland police are investigating a burglary and incident of criminal mischief at Shamrock Liquors, which occurred Friday morning. An unknown suspect shattered a drive through glass window, valued at $1,800 and then entered the businesses.

An Ashland man living in the 200 block of Carl Perkins Drive reported Saturday that a female suspect entered his apartment and removed a Kindle Fire and a Nintendo Wii valued at $400.

Assault

An Ashland woman living in the 1800 block of Winchester Avenue reported Friday that she was assaulted by a juvenile suspect. The woman reported being kicked, punched and slapped by the suspect.

An Ashland man living in the 2200 block of Woodland Avenue reported Friday night that he struck a juvenile male suspect in the head with a crochet mallet after the juvenile forced his way into the man’s home. According to police, the juvenile suspect said he never entered the residence and was outside when a verbal altercation led to the assault. The case remains under investigation.

An Ashland man living in the 3100 block of Carter Avenue was arrested Saturday night for assault. According to police, the 31-year-old man returned home after a night of drinking and began assaulting his father.

Theft

An Ashland woman living in the 3400 block of Ladoka Stret reported Saturday that an antique lawn figurine statue, lawn and patio furniture and a lawn mower, together valued at $1,750, were stolen from her backyard and residence on Friday. The items were all recovered down the hill in the woods between Ashland Terrace Apartments and Roberts Drive trailer park.

An woman reported the theft of a 2001 Volkswagen Beetle, with Kentucky plates, from the parking lot of Duco Court. The vehicle is valued at $2,500.

A woman reported Saturday that her wallet containing a driver’s license, credit cards and other personal information was stolen after being misplaced at Kroger.

Other

Police arrested a 29-year-old Ashland woman Friday on charges of second degree hindering the prosecution or apprehension of another criminal suspect. Police say the woman repeatedly denied she was at work when she was working.

Police arrested an Illinois man on Friday on charges of being a fugitive from another state. The man had warrants out of Texas, Virginia and Illinois and was willing to be extradited, according to police.

An Ashland man was arrested along Town Center Drive just after midnight Saturday on charges of driving under the influence, second degree wanton endangerment and fourth degree assault. According to police, at the time of his arrest the suspect was driving under the influence of an intoxicant with children under the age of 12 in the vehicle. In addition, the suspect assaulted his wife with in an argument by striking her in the face with a closed fist.

A Flatwoods man was arrested Sunday morning in the 1700 block of Clements Drive after police say he knowingly induced a 12-year-old to engage in illegal drug activity with marijuana.
