Man arrested for using forged checks

ASHLAND — The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:


An Ashland man was arrested  Sunday for using five forged checks to steal $16,400 from a 5/3 bank account belonging to his grandmother.

Walmart employees reported Friday that $319 in merchandise had been stolen between Wednesday and Friday.

An Ashland man was arrested Saturday for attempting to break into a vehicle parked at 10th Street and Montgomery Avenue.

A juvenile was arrested Sunday for stealing $191.80 from Walmart.

An Ashland man was arrested Sunday for stealing $12 in merchandise from Walmart.



Police arrested a 19-year-old Flatwoods woman Saturday for loitering for prostitution purposes. The woman was in the area of 24th Street.

Criminal mischief

An Ashland resident in the 500 block of 17th Street reported Friday that a window, valued at $100, was damaged by an unknown male skateboarder whose board went through the window. The skateboarder then fled on foot.   

An Ashland man reported Saturday his 2008 Ford Focus was spray painted and food thrown on it during the night on Friday. Damages were estimated at $500.


An Ashland woman reported Friday she was struck in the head with a rake by another woman. The incident occurred in the 1200 block of Long Street just before 11 p.m.


An Ashland man living in the 4500 block of Skyline Drive reported the theft of $9,700 from his home by an unknown person.


An Ashland woman in the 1400 block of Wurts Avenue reported Friday an unknown person used her debit card to buy goods and services.


Police arrested a woman on Saturday on charges of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. The woman was found to be in possession of morphine and hypodermic needles with residue. She also gave police false information.

An Ashland woman was arrested Sunday in the 200 block of Winchester Avenue following a call to police about a suspicious person. The woman was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and synthetic cannaoid agonists or piperazines.
