Dealership reports theft of rental vehicle

ASHLAND — The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:

Auto theft

Bill Cole Auto Mall, 2701 Winchester Ave., last week reported two men rented a 2011 Nissan Rogue from the dealership last month and had failed to return it.

The vehicle, valued at $25,225, was recovered, the APD said.

Theft

Residents of the 2500 and 2600 block of Holt Street last week reported the theft of wicker porch furniture. One man told police a white wicker porch couch valued at $300 was taken; the other reported two chairs, a couch and a center table, all valued at $100, were stolen.

A woman living in the 1900 block of High Street on Saturday reported the theft of a bicycle valued at $130.

Unlawful transaction

A 19-year-old Ashland man was arrested Friday on a charge of third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor for allegedly giving alcohol to a 17-year-old girl. The suspect also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Burglary

A woman living in the 800 block of 29th Street on Saturday reported someone had entered her apartment and removed her laptop computer.

Shoplifting

A 25-year-old Huntington woman was arrested Friday at Walmart for allegedly attempting to steal merchandise valued at $237.96.

A 22-year-old Ashland man was arrested Saturday at Walmart for allegedly trying to steal merchandise valued at $43.88.

A 29-year-old Portsmouth woman was arrested Sunday at Ashland Town Center for allegedly trying to steal merchandise valued at $252 from J.C. Penney and Claire’s.

A 37-year-old Flatwoods man was arrested Sunday at Walmart for allegedly attempting to steal merchandise valued at $9.97.
