GREENUP — Cruiser club to sponsor run

GREENUP - The nonprofit Greenup County Cruiser Car Club will have its third annual Adam’s Run on Saturday.

The event will begin at the Greenup Dam with registration at 9 a.m. Cars, trucks, motorcycles and anything else with wheels are eligible. The run will travel through Carter and Greenup counties, concluding in downtown Greenup.

A cruise-in with live entertainment, concessions and inflatables will be from noon to 5 p.m.

Registration for cars in the run or in the cruise-in is $10 for either or both events. Concessions will be by donation only.

The event was started three years ago and has continued to honor Adam Shane Hoschar, a 12-year-old who has fought cancer for two years. Proceeds will go to Daisy Osborne, a Greenup County 3-year-old with leukemia.

Wurtland reunion will be Sept. 7

WURTLAND - The second annual Wurtland community reunion will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 7 in the cafeteria of Wurtland Elementary School.

The Lions Club will have snacks, light refreshments and burgers for sale.

Wreath class set at library

CATLETTSBURG - Staff at the Catlettsburg branch of Boyd County Public Library will teach wreath making at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the branch at 2704 Louisa St.

The free session is for adults. Attendees may take home their wreaths. The library will supply materials.

Wurtland will set tax rate Friday

WURTLAND - The Wurtland City Commission will have a special meeting about the tax rate at noon Friday at the city building.

Olive Hill offers Dining with Past

OLIVE HILL - Dining with the Past will  be Sept. 7 in this Carter County town.

An event featuring re-enactments by historical Olive Hill figures will take place at 6 p.m. in Olive Hill Cemetery next to the elementary school. Dinner catered by Texas Roadhouse will follow the program.

Tickets for dinner and the event are $20; reservations are required. Tickets for the event only are $10.

In the event of rain, the event will be at the Olive Hill Arts and Education Center at 120 Comet Drive.

Tickets are available at Commercial Bank and First National Bank in Olive Hill.
