Still no city manager hiring

ASHLAND - The Ashland Board of City Commissioners met in recessed session Thursday and again adjourned without hiring a new city manager.

The meeting was recessed until 2 p.m. Wednesday, at which time the process will resume, Mayor Chuck Charles said.

ACTC offering free haircuts

ASHLAND - Cosmetology students at Ashland Community and Technical College are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the college with free haircuts next week.

The students will offer the cuts from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday in the cosmetology building, which is at the entrance to the student parking lot on Oakview Road.

Students also will be offering free haircuts and styling for Locks of Love donors who have 10-inch or longer ponytails. The donated hair will be made into wigs for financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss.

Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged and may be made by calling (606) 326-0565.

Also, the department will have an open house from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
