The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:
‰A woman reported she was the victim of a purse-snatching Thursday in the 3100 block of Winchester Avenue.
The incident occurred about 10:10 p.m. The victim told police a man used force to steal her purse, then fled in a tan or silver Ford Taurus being driven by another person.
The black leather purse contained personal documents, identification cards, makeup and other items.
‰A man was charged with felony assault on Thursday after he allegedly struck and spat on a Boyd County deputy jailer after being taken to the lockup by city police for alcohol intoxication.
Christopher G. Caudill, 36, of Ashland, was “manifestly under the influence of alcohol” when officers found him at the intersection of Eighth Street and Montgomery Avenue about 9:45 p.m., the APD said.
As he was being placed under arrest, Caudill became belligerent and combative, cursing and screaming at the officers. He also broke the foot guard on the rear passenger door of a cruiser, according to police.
Once at the Boyd County Detention Center, Caudill allegedly struck a correctional officer in the head with his fist and spat on him.
Caudill remained in custody on Friday.
‰A 33-year-old man was arrested Thursday on a misdemeanor assault charge for allegedly slapping and choking his live-in girlfriend during a domestic dispute in the 200 block of 28th Street.
