Greenup stabbing victim dies
A man stabbed in a fight last month has died and the man accused of stabbing him faces murder charges.
Michael Gillespie, 31, of Lewis County, died early Tuesday afternoon, according to Greenup County Sheriff Keith Cooper.
Reece A. Frasure Sr., 50, of South Shore, will be charged with murder and his case will be presented to a grand jury, according to Greenup Commonwealth’s Attorney Mel Leonhart.
Frasure was arrested the day after the stabbing on a charge of first-degree assault and lodged in the Greenup County Detention Center.
The stabbing happened about 10:30 p.m. March 27 at a residence on Mica’s Walk Road, which is off the A-A Highway. According to the sheriff’s department, the two men got into a fight that ended with Frasure stabbing Gillespie in the chest with a steak knife.
Gillespie had reportedly been on life support since the stabbing on March 27.
Robbery suspect sought in Ohio
Lawrence and Scioto county sheriff departments are looking for a Wheelersburg man suspected of robbing the US Bank Proctorville Branch Monday.
Detectives are hunting for Elvis P. Kerns, 34, who is five feet, 11 inches tall, has brown hair and blue eyes. Kerns was last seen driving a 1990 gold Chevrolet Cavalier with Ohio license plate number FTK-1183.
The car has tinted windows that are bubbled over and a sticker supporting coal miners in the rear window.
Kerns also is suspected of a robbery in Wheelersburg Friday.

Wildflowers focus of Carter event
Carter Caves State Resort Park will host Wildflower Pilgrimage Weekend April 19 through 21.
Admission to field trips and workshops is $15 for adults and $10 for ages 6 through 12. Guests will sign up for programs at the park Friday night or Saturday morning. Evening programs will also be scheduled. Preregistration is required since space is limited.
Featured will be trips focusing on wildflowers, birds, ferns and tree identification, and a canoe trip on Smoky Lake.
