WIne fundraiser will be Sept. 28
Tickets are on sale now for the Marshall Artists Series’ annual Uncorked! Fund-raiser, a wine festival slated from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Frederick Building on Fourth Avenue.
The event includes food, music and live and silent auctions. Tickets are $40.
Guests will check in at the Keith-Albee Theatre to retrieve a tasting glass, wristband and bidding number. Check-in begins at 3 p.m.
The VIP wine tasting package for $125 per ticket includes admission to the general tasting, along with a premium wine tasting from 4 p.m. 5 p.m. just prior to the general tasting. The premium tasting features wines valued at $50 or rated 90+ along with complimentary hors d’oeuvres. The Premium Package for 10 is $2,500 and includes everything from the VIP package and additionally includes five VIP parking passes for the lot adjacent to the Keith-Albee Theatre. The kick-off event for Uncorked! will be “An Evening in Argentina” at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 at The Frederick. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and South American food and wine will be featured, along with music by The Mielgo Trio of Buenos Aires. Tickets are $100 per person. Stuart junior tale Sept. 28
“Old Ben,” a story for Appalachian folk of all ages, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 28 at the John P. Stephens Cultural Arts Center.
This Jesse Stuart junior book is brought to life as a music/drama production with live old-time music by Kentucky Memories. A naturalist from Shawnee State Park will be there with her pet black snake and she will present a presentation on the importance and dangers of snakes.
Admission is $3 per person at the door.
