SOUTH SHORE — Greenup stabbing investigated

SOUTH SHORE - Authorities are investigating a stabbing Wednesday night at a home in rural Greenup County.

The incident was reported about 10:30 p.m. at a residence on Mica’s Walk Road off the A-A Highway.

Authorities said the stabbing occurred during an altercation between two men. The victim was flown to Cabell Huntington Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition Thursday.

No additional information was immediately available. The Greenup County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.

Easter event set at Wurtland VFD

WURTLAND - The Wurtland Volunteer Fire Department will host “Breakfast with the Easter Bunny” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the fire station, 1218 Wurtland Ave.

Pancakes, bacon, sausage, milk and juice will be served. The cost is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children younger than 10. There will be various activities, including a community Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. and a drawing for an Easter basket at the end of the day.
