Registration for the 2013-14 school year for the Boyd County Head Start/Preschool Programs and Boyd County kindergarten will be March 18.
Registration for Head Start and preschool programs will be from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Early Childhood Learning Center-South, 12862 Ky. 180, and from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 18 at The Early Childhood Learning Center-North, 1100 Bob McCullough Drive.
The Boyd County Head Start/Preschool is a full-day program in session four days a week for a total of 128 school days. The program is accredited through the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs (NAEYC) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The program provides comprehensive early childhood services, which include instruction from certified early childhood teachers, health screenings, health education, mental health and nutritional services and a wide range of social services to families.
The Boyd County Preschool Program includes Kentucky Preschool four-year old children and Head Start-eligible children. Eligibility for Head Start and Kentucky Preschool is based on household income and/or special needs. Children must be 3 or 4 years of age on or before Oct. 1, 2013.
Parents should bring child’s birth certificate, Social Security card and proof of 2012 income. Proof of income may include: check stub, 2012 income tax return, 2012 W-2 statement, or written statements from employer or proof of: Child Subsidy, KTAP, SSI or Kinship. Before enrollment can be complete, a physical and current immunization certificate must be on file.
If Boyd County Schools are canceled on March 18, registration will be the next day school is in session.

To be eligible for Kindergarten, child must be 5 years old on or before Oct.r 1, 2013. Parents should bring child’s birth certificate, Social Security card and a current immunization certificate.
If Boyd County Schools are cancelled, registration will be the next day school is in session.
