IRONVILLE — Endangerment charge made

IRONVILLE - A Boyd County man was arrested Saturday night for allegedly threatening a woman with a gun and shooting her vehicle.

Aaron L. Niswonger, 49, of the 1200 block of Donta Road, was lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center, charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and possession of marijuana.

The incident occurred at 11:25 p.m. at Niswonger’s residence, according to a news release from the Boyd County Sheriff’s Department.

Name change for hunger relief group

HUNTINGTON - The hunger relief organization formerly known as the Huntington Area Food Bank announced Monday it is now Facing Hunger Foodbank.

“The name ‘Huntington Area Food Bank’ has served us well for more than three decades,” said Debra Johnson-Tourigny, board president. “We would like to reintroduce ourselves now as Facing Hunger Foodbank and remind our dedicated supporters of our mission.”

Johnson-Tourigny said the intent of the name change is to better reflect the expansive region served by the food bank in West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio.

Facing Hunger Foodbank is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization affiliated with Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief charity. With a network of more than 200 member agencies, the food bank’s service region spans 17 counties across the three states.

Sarah’s Place to have auction

SANDY HOOK - Sarah’s Place will sponsor an Extravaganza Auction on April 26 at the Highlands Museum and Discovery Center in Ashland.

The 6 p.m. event includes a live and silent auction, dinner and dancing, door prizes and split-the-pot raffle.

Auction items include a Greenbrier weekend (valued at $1,200), pick a beach vacation (valued at $1,250), zip lines, skiing, Disney World tickets, Kentucky Horse Park tickets, golf packages, a Cincinnati Reds package and setting sail aboard the oldest working Skipjack in the Chesapeake Bay.

Style show will benefit Hospice

BELLEFONTE - Community Hospice’s annual Spring Style Show and Luncheon is set for noon April 5 at Bellefonte Country Club.
